I agree that GE is a good representative of TalkBass. He seems to stay focused on what bass playing is really supposed to be about. When it comes to bass, you know you'll get straightforward, knowledgeable answers from him.

I'm at work right now, and I've already snapped some pictures of Art jamming, I'll post more of an update when I'm off. 
Now THATS the "spirit"!!!
My wife and I will be bringing our kids to NYC in April so I hope to do the same for him when we get there.

You, General electric, I am at a loss for words, English not being my first language and what-not, but what you did is probably the most unselfish and beautiful thing I've heard of in years.
I've subscribed to this thread, and hope to see pictures, and read about the reunion, I sure hope it all turns out to be nothing less than Epic.

yeah....do you think it would be cool (appropriate) for local talkbass peeps to be there at the reunion? Would the brothers mind, or would it be best to have it a private moment?
I betcha it would get some local tv station action, or national attention.... if that was something that would "fit" for the brothers....

Just amazing how in such a large city as NYC, let alone a large country, that two strangers can meet and have something wonderful happen. I found this thread through adadepot.com, so it is definitely worldwide.
GE has done a very selfless thing here, way to go. I hope Andre can look past all the detractors, and find peace within and the knowledge that there are good people out there just being themselves, and staying true to their convictions of being a thoughtful and honest person. The naysayers be damned.
As a musician in a rather small community, I know the importance of helping our disadvantaged neighbors. Our band regularly plays for benefits. We've been asked to participate in a benefit for Sarah Foxwell, the 11 year old girl who was killed by a registered sex offender in Salisbury, MD over the Christmas holiday.
So, out of sadness that has been the marking of the holidays in our area, it's great to see something wonderful transpire here.
BTW, it just joined TB so I could post this. I couldn't stand not being able to say something and needed to bolster this most positive aspect of human nature and true musicianship.

sometime in the future, a talkbasser will start a thread about giving a fellow bassist who's been down on luck a new amplifier. The thread will have a bunch of plot twists to the point that the thread somehow accomplishes world peace.

Hey, welcome to TB. Ocean City, Huh? I have some good/bad/ugly memories, or should I say non-memories, of that place. Too many hotels, too many liquor stores, too many chicks, etc. I was a bad boy then.
I used to live around Annapolis and Baltimore in my high school days so OC was where we went to "vent" our youthful angst.
