found inside of a old amp

lmao....

i feel ya jimmy!

BTW, the active components (the ones you want, anyway) decompose (or gas off or whatever it is that happens) at a measurable rate. jeez... something like 0.3% a day or something under average conditions, and much faster at higher temps or with exposure to UV... it has been awhile, and i forget exactly. i will bet that the 20,000 year old weed was perfectly useless, with no drugs or even flavor, were it to be smoked....

1. exactly.

2. trust me, you get forty lbs of coke, you will be able to sell it. only problem is you will probably run into the one who owned it who will be very angry.

3. he's a cokehead. that question is always a dead giveaway.

4. you might find a misplaced gram bag once in a great while. but nobody just ditches a large amount of coke like that unless they're being chased by the cops, and if they do ditch it, the cops will find it way before you will. so this hypothetical is moot. it ain't happening, so don't go walking through the woods expecting it.

After thinking on that conversation for a while I came to the same conclusion. That guy was a class A, nut-job.... I worked with him for a while and those types of conversation came to be expected with him on a daily basis. The best one I remember him coming up with involved how easy it would be to rob the bank down the street from where we worked. He had planned the whole event one day while waiting to get his paycheck cashed.
I haven't seen this guy since we worked together 14 years ago. But, I will lay You a wager that says he is behind bars somewhere, or still fantasizing about some criminal enterprise.....

...

Well yeah you could have been busted, could have had your car impounded and you'd be still paying payments.

Then they'd raid your house, be busting out walls and ceilings, ripping the stuffing out of your couch. Seizing your bank accounts and digging up your backyard...

BOB

I laughed, but in reality if you did send it out to a tech and he NARC'd on you, there is a chance you'd get a visit by a cop that was having a bad day and felt like enforcing some BS zero tolerance policy and you'd end up in jail.

Just remember that the next time someone says, "if you aren't doing anything wrong, you have nothing to fear".

Someone accidentally mailed a guitar case FULL of weed to Peavey a couple years ago. Turns out the guy was a distributor who shipped weed in Peavey guitar cases to Meridian. He intended to send his actual guitar in for repair, but mixed up the shipping labels.

Roaches are very commonly spotted in the repair department, especially in mixing consoles where they fall in through the fader slots.

We've gone about full circle on this one; I know I have at least one more story in me on this topic to get: IBTL

Oh yeah... My old next door neighbor, this is a good one. Guy owned a gas station in Golden Valley, MN; had a super hot OL too, anyway.

Around 1980 or so, plus or minus ten years this guy is having breakfast with one of his workers. They'd just completed a tow job. He was one of the first guys to have HAPPY HOOKER on the front of his tow truck, kind a red neck guy.

Anyway, they were at Denny's having the early morning gut buster and colon blaster combo and when they got up noticed a briefcase in the next booth sitting on the floor. They grabbed it.

Inside when they got back to the wrecker, 2 million in industrial diamonds and $60K in cash.

Turns out a diamond salesman was having the start of a really bad week.

Well, of course it hits the news. Over the course of the week it starts at $1000 reward, then $2000; by the end of the week the announced reward is all the cash in the case; just please return the diamonds to the rightful owner.

Well DUH, come on this salesman was a real doofus, of course the money would be gone.

I'm thinking, if I was going to become a criminal, take money, install in bank. Sign up for the "Antwerp School of Fine Diamond Merchant Training" and become a pilar in the diamond business. All the time two mil in ice sits collecting dust under my bed or in a safety deposit box down at the local bank.

BUT good old Greg was smarter than this, he and his buddy climb on a jet and head to Vegas, blow all the money at craps and hit some pawn shops and try and fence the diamonds.

Arrested, start growing fungus in prison.

BOB OUT

you know, if that happened to me, i don't think i'd have it in me to keep it knowing that some diamond merchant probably lost his job or lost a fortune. even if it's insured, i just couldn't do it. plus, of course, the prison thing would suck ;)

How was it? Did everyone get a taste or only the shipping department? :D

=wr=

you know what they say...cops and amp repair guys get the best dope.

I don't know. As proven by our shipping department and the OP, these opportunities are always wasted on the wrong people :p.

yup.

ha... great story!

I opened an old mesa 410 that I had 6-7 years ago to find out I must have been transporting a dead shriveled up mouse to my gigs for months. Who knew I had the tiniest dead roadie possible.

this happened to my keyboard player a few nights ago. we were in his basement recording vocals, and suddenly the monitors above his computer stopped working. after much freaking out, one of our guys opened it up and found so much weed behind the speaker. i never touch the stuff, but he and our guitarist quickly vaporized it and called it a night.
