found inside of a old amp

I have a thread posted yesterday I had my amps swiped and I replaced the 2 missing ones, one was a combo with a blown speaker.I promptly got a speaker next business day and when I went to install the speaker there was a bag of weed in the amp.If I sent this amp out for repair would I have been busted?I have found tuners cables strings normal stuff inside of used guitar cases but this is a first

It was probably so old the THC had decayed. It would been the equivalent of smoking hay. You might of got a slight buzz from lack of oxygen and the constant coughing but would you of been busted? If the tech was a nark or a real *******, yeah most likely.

Ha! great story - I bet the original owner of the weed has been looking for his stash for a while :D

I was on a trip in highschool more years ago ten I care to admit but we stayed at this hotel - of course I was looking for trouble and poked my head above the drop ceiling and found a pack of smokes and a nudie mag from the 20's :eyebrow: I figured it's been up there all this time so I put it back . . .

You need to put it in a humidor and bring it's humidity back up to 70%. That's what I do if my Cohiba's get a little dried out.

Then have your old lady make brownies for the kids. It's fun watching them scurry around making fools of themselves. Naw better yet take them to church for the fellowship hour.

Well yeah you could have been busted, could have had your car impounded and you'd be still paying payments.

Then they'd raid your house, be busting out walls and ceilings, ripping the stuffing out of your couch. Seizing your bank accounts and digging up your backyard.

You'll then find 16 bodies in the backyard as the developer built your house on an indian burial ground and they'll think you are a serial killer. My buddy's Dad actually had burial mounds in his backyard, puts a whole new meaning to the Ghost Dance.

The law is really fair, and you are a musician, you'd get the death penalty.

And they'll seize the cab as it is probably somebody else's stolen property....

PS my farmhouse came with a FULL GIANT BAGGY and a bong stuffed up in the heating ducts in the basement. The dump got the bong and the burning barrel the weed. I've never even smoked the stuff myself. It goes IFR inside my Vader Helmet bad enough with the Cohibas

I worked as a electronic tech for a few months after high school at what was the largest-volume music retailer in the Dallas/Ft. Worth metroplex (Arnold & Morgan). Repair shop policy was that any personal items found inside equipment left for repair were returned to the owner, often in a little manila envelope. There was no exemption for illegal items and supposedly a tech had previously been fired for appropriating some coke left in the back of a Fender amp (after the owner complained).

I doubt many music repair shops would report you to the police, what a way to alienate a potential return customer!

This just proves my theory that everyone here is way old and done with partying; nobody here said smoke the weed....

What difference would it make if you bought dope off the street or it came in the back of an amp as far as safety is concerened?

Rob, you forget to mention that the OP would be charged with dealing and linked to some Columbian cartel; them Cohibas ever come from Senior Castro's hood?

Back in 1969, my band shopped for clothes at a cool boutique that had recently been burglarized, and lot's of clothes stolen. After the police found the thieves and recovered the clothes, the boutique owner called us up to offer some deep discounts on the recovered merchandise. The guitar player tried on an UGLY pair of pants, and when he reached in the pocket, he came up with an oz of weed! :hyper:

Well.......He bought the pants but never wore them!! LOL!! :D
