found inside of a old amp

Hey OP, if you don't mind my asking, what state was this in?

The reason I'm asking/funny thing is that I just sold a Yamaha amp just like that one about a week ago but mine didn't have a blown speaker, at least I didn't know it was blown. I can assure you if it was the same amp, that it didn't come from me and I'm just as surprised as you. I really don't think it could have been the same amp as I don't see where anything could get lost inside, maybe a playing card or something thinner. Either way this is definitely unusual.

OK, NM. I should have read the post you referred to in your OP. Alas, it was not me who sold you the amp with surprise inside. Good deal BTW on your pawn shop score! Hard to beat that. I just sold the exact same amp alone without blown speaker for $75. So by my pricing, you just got the amp & bass for $75 each.

Well yeah you could have been busted, could have had your car impounded and you'd be still paying payments.

Then they'd raid your house, be busting out walls and ceilings, ripping the stuffing out of your couch. Seizing your bank accounts and digging up your backyard....
BOB

Not if you live in Burlington. The Man was given the order long ago not to waste their time on such.

guilty conscience?

1. exactly.

2. trust me, you get forty lbs of coke, you will be able to sell it. only problem is you will probably run into the one who owned it who will be very angry.

3. he's a cokehead. that question is always a dead giveaway.

4. you might find a misplaced gram bag once in a great while. but nobody just ditches a large amount of coke like that unless they're being chased by the cops, and if they do ditch it, the cops will find it way before you will. so this hypothetical is moot. it ain't happening, so don't go walking through the woods expecting it.

EXACTLY!!!

you find 40 ponds of Coke.....fight the urge!....Well, maybe one toot...but then leave it the hell alone!!! I PROMISE you, someone is looking for it...they woun't mind you sampling...but I'd leave it there...bullets make holes in the human body..;)

that started to remind me of an emo phillips joke: "whatever you do, don't do drugs. yea, the life may seem glamorous and exciting...and you and your friends will have a good time, but one day...oooh one day....it will be YOUR turn to treat."

I liked when a mentally handicapped teenager here in the twin cities found nearly 20k and missed the 4+ pounds of hydroponic weed someone tossed off the side off of the road.

They caught up to him a day later after he had given his bus driver $1000 for being so nice. He had already passed out something like $14,000 in that 24hr period. Cops found the pot... :rollno:

wow, just when i say it isn't going to happen, it happens! ok, it happens once in a while, but the likelihood of it happening to any of us is less than winning lotto.

so hey, i'll be right back...just going for a quick walk in the woods.

:hiding:

After reading through this thread, I have concluded that I would enjoy hanging out with JimmyM
lol! you might want to change your mind after you know i haven't done coke since the mid 80's and i quit smoking pot almost a year ago. if someone hands me a joint i'll take a hit but i've quit for all intents and purposes. however, i am still quite the fun guy...whoop de do ;)

next time i play in philly, bro! been a good while so i'm due.

I remember in the early 90's, I smoked a joint left over from Woodstock.
Sure the idea was good but the weed was not. It tasted like the stuff you sweep into a dust pan.

Another time in the early 90's, I kicked a bunch of rocks along a rocky path only to uncover a little sac of weed.
Yeah, that one didn't taste too good either.

I wouldn't do that again, I'd rather buy a fresh sac.:smug:

The tech would have kept it and you would have never known about it.

Yep! As an amp tech for the past 30 years, you can't believe the stuff I've found in amps:

used rubbers
unused rubbers
girls underwear
weed (lots!)
"white powder"
lots of different pills
girls phone numbers
guys phone numbers (probably given to the lead singer :p)
cigars (even a fully wrapped Cuban)
dead mice, squirrels, rats and more
vomit...several years ago, I got paid $500 to clean out an old Fender head that someone had vomited in and make sure it still worked....took it apart, sprayed down the chassis with Simple Green and douched it with a strong blast of clean water and dried it in the oven...worked great after and no bad smells...2 hours labor...ya gotta love it!
a thriving cockroach colony (that amp went into a large plastic trash bag and sent back to the owner unfixed)
a 380 semiauto pistol (loaded with one in the pipe)
a live .22 round being used as a fuse !
and of course, the ubiquitous picks, cables, strings and dust bunnies.
I've pretty much seen it all :eyebrow:

Never say never ;)

But in all seriousness, good for you for sorting out and leaving behind parts of your life that weren't essential

I'm pretty sure that about 35% of Burlington's population is perpetually stoned anyway, and the rest of us join in about half the time.

I've been there. Very relaxing little city, there was a punk art house that i spent many hours in somewhere in the middle of town...
I know exactly where that is. A friend of mine lived like two houses down from there for a year or two.

Yeah I always though that was a good one.... "Theyre gonna lace the weed with more expensive drugs and still sell it for the same price!" lol

Not more expensive, but cheaper and more addictive drugs in order to (presumably) boost sales of ho-hum hemp to kids who don't know any better. :eyebrow: (It would be prudent to assume that other narcotics are also laced with meth for the same reason.)

FTR I smoked more than my share of pot for decades but I wouldn't want to now because it impairs my ability to do things which I currently enjoy more than just getting blasted.

(Besides, it's a ridiculous waste of money which drives a lot of modest income-earning steady smokers into becoming small-time dealers to finance their habit.)

I also quit drinking beverage alcohol and (more recently) smoking cigarettes as well.

Good riddance to wasting dough just to feel out-of-phase with one's health, reason, and reality. :spit:
