Frasier. Greatest Sitcom Ever

I feel like most people who disliked the show never really gave it a chance and/or merely dismissed it as a chick flick (or the tv equivalent). I'd be watching the show and my brother would come into the room and say something along the lines of, "Why the heck are you watching this crap?" and I'd tell him to sit down, watch it, and give it a chance. It took him awhile, but now he really likes the show.

Plus Jen Jen is hawt. :p







So am I back to dork status? :D

Nah. I'm comfortable enough with my sexuality to also admit to liking Friends. But there did seem to be this macho resistance and hostility to it, probably due to the media ubiquity of the 3 ladies. Naming a haircut after a character didn't help...utterly cringeworthy.

However, the lines traded between Joey, Chandler and Ross were often moments of genuine comic genius. Curious how none of them have really hit the heights since it folded.

Frasier was OK but it was way too pretentious and arty. Cheers was a lot better. But the best sitcoms of all time are clearly I Love Lucy, The Honeymooners, and Green Acres.

I think that was the point...to satirise and poke fun at the pretensions of the so-called social elite. At least thats how I saw it. Frasier and Niles often got their comeuppance and their shallowness was ruthlessly exposed. I think that's why I loved it so much.

3rd Rock from the Sun kicked Frasier's buttocks and absolutely killed Seinfeld.

This is, of course, my funny bone. I get it that many many people loved both Seinfeld and Frasier.
