Joe Walsh' first two albums: "Barnstorm" and "The Smoker You Drink, The Player You Get". Kenny Passarelli on fretless Precision.

A great example of Sting's fretless P sound is "Contact," from Reggata de Blanc.
If I'm not mistaken, Paul Simonon of the Clash used a fretless P quite extensively, although Joe Strummer was probably the one actually playing the lines a lot of the time.

How about The Mars Volta's The Widow? It's on the album Frances the Mute. Juan Alderete gets killer tone on that track.

He does, although I think he may also play Spector basses on the occasion too. I'm sure about him playing Wal basses though, he's listed on the Website.
chekc out any fretless work by Will Lee, he uses a P bass for all his fretless work on recording as well as live. he had a 66 lake placid blue color fender jazz for three or four years but sold it a few years ago.
that bass was owned by neil jason and is the one you hear on his work with cindy lauper "time after time" etc etc
I've seen will's p bass as well as have handled it, its as solid as they come, yet simple. he's had it in his arsenal forever...since the mid 70's. its red and worn on the edges.

Recordings might be hard to find these days, but the bass player from a band called Trip Shakespeare played a fretless P.
