Friday Weekly '88-93 G&L L5000 Roundup

That would be cool. I have a Modulus prototype that is 1-3/4 nut with 2-1/2 heal and I absolutely love it. I would love to find another one somewhere, but they are not easy to come by especially in a quality instruments.
I stand corrected! I measured one of mine at 2 7/16" at the heel.
Did anyone catch the L5005 on ebay now?

the one in NC is on TB for sale since yesterday. I think it includes the original case, but it has an issue with the nut on the truss. Slight neck issue that can't be fixed until the nut issue with the truss is fixed. Owner says his luthier is looking at about $150 to get it up and running. Asking price if I remember correctly is $1000

$1000 and already sold? Wow... I guess the demand for the instrument went up.

These are neat, and they didn't make many, but, they sure don't regularly trade that high, from what I've seen.

Not sure about that. That CL one has been around for longer than the dude said he was considering selling it. Also a bit cheaper.
I figured with the truss rod issue, that would be about a $400 repair. Remove the board replace the truss and everything else, probably about $400. I was ready to jump on it, but when I found the other thread about the truss issue, that was just too much of a risk for me and I am into buying basket cases..
I am so glad you bought that one and the other black and maple ones are far, far away across a lot of water.
Then again the black with rosewood for $666 has me looking at it again now that it's posted.

Walked into my local MRG and low and behold a SB-2 hanging on the wall. early 80's. Played like crap.. If it were a 5'er I would have bought it anyway, but oh well.
I check the guitar center used G & L basses and for weeks that was two pages, now it's running over 4 pages.
I don't know if that's GC updating that site for the holidays or a lot more customers coming in and trading up.
But SB-2 JB-2 and a few ML 4's do show up there amongst all the L 2000's.
Keep hoping to see that elusive black and maple L5000 but not yet.
