The guy's not just some oddball, he's very into the science behind ingredient combinations and cooking method. I'd like to try his restaurant out one day to see what some of the more bizarre things on his menu taste like, but I don't imagine being able to afford it any time soon.
Well, you are in the British Isles...

Funny thread.
I haven´t been to the states yet, but I have made some observartions nevertheless.
-Politeness: Americans are in general way more polite then us Norwegians.
-Guns: In the USA it´s common to have your own gun! Lots of people even "wear" it all the time - when they go to the grocery store and such. In Norway not even the police are allowed to carry guns (This is a very touchy subject, so let´s not turn it into a debate. I´m just stating the differences, allright?)
I think our definition on "common" would be different due to cultural mindsets.
I wouldn't be surprised if I found out someone I know has a gun, but most of the people that I'm around do not, or do not to my knowledge.
As to carrying a weapon, considering that I working in the service industry(food & retail sales) I only recall one person carrying a weapon on thier person.
You may be right, but what actions are you basing this on?
