I've never tried it, but I think I'd give it a try.
I went to this website to check it out. They need to be like Costco and give you one, maybe two, choices. I was all prepared to make a purchase but became overwhelmed with so many choices and bought nothing.

Yep, I ask people to pick three thread colors when they order a rod. There are hundreds of colors and types to choose from and when faced with so many choices, a lot of people will ask me to pick for them.

As for choices from Claxton, it's been decades since I had anything but their light and dark 1 lb slabs of fruit cake because that's what a lot of stores in Alabama carry during the holiday season since I was a child. Back in 1975, my mom wanted to stop at their bakery on the way home from picking me up when I graduated boot camp, and she bought a bunch of their candy. The only one I remember was the divinity because it was so sweet my eyes rolled back in my head when I ate a piece. :D
When I looked at their current selections I was surprised to see cracked pecans costing so much these days. Back in the day pecans were something you picked up off the ground because there were trees everywhere, especially in the southern end of the state. We had three trees on our place and picked up around 15~20 big brown grocery bags filled to the brim every year. So many people had trees a few bucks would get you half of one of those same big grocery bags at the local Gulf station or IGA when they were in season.

So now that we've got fruitcake sorted, what's next? Who wants to join me and try some good ol' mincemeat pie? Mmmmmmm, mmmmmmm, mincemeat! hehe

For most of my life till recently, fruitcakes & casseroles would get a fast & sure “nope”.

But lately my Mac & Cheese has been getting meats, and now meats & veggies in it…

I just started baking in the last year and suddenly cake (my favorite food) has gotten boring. Funnily enough, last week I was thinking ~1/4” chopped cherries & bananas would be pretty good with my “cornbread” mix.

That's a great big no from me.
When I was 3 I was at my uncle's house at Thanksgiving and there was a mincemeat pie on the floor next to the hearth. Uncle George was blasted drunk.
"Don't step in the pie, Davie!" He shouted about 10 times. Uncle George had a conspiratorial gleam in his eye.
I stomped that pie like a hooligan, and soundly got spanked by my dad.

Apparently, Uncle George didn't like mincemeat pie either :)
