Hey guys. I'm totally ignorant to the whole midi thing, and I have a question..please be nice... Would something like this work..allowing me to utilize the midi functionality of the FI or would I need a legit midi controller?

View attachment 759384 MIDISPORT 2x2 is a two-in, two-out, USB Midi interface for Windows and Macintosh. If you have more than just one keyboard or sound module, or more than one controller, the 2x2 is perfect. Since it is powered by the USB port, the 2x2 is convenient and great for laptop use

Edit: I have about 12 of these I scored at a college computer lab remodel...and would be willing to " help" anyone out that needed one... Obviously I don't even know what it's for. But they looked like maybe I could make a buck off them

If the UNO doesn't work, I might need some "help" haha

If so, allot of them include a midi interface that may work.

This product desperately needs a single-source product page with all of the pertinent information collected and presented.

If/when I receive mine I don't want to have to hunt around a 100 page thread for a link of MIDI devices that have been tested, or a link to find the editor for Mac, etc.

Then, once a bunch of us have these we'll need some common repository where we can upload/download user presets for sharing with the world.

The whole documentation and the programs will be posted to www.pandamidi.com, but for now I post it here as well. Concerning MIDI interfaces, you can expect the following:
1. Editing sounds requires only MIDI controller messages, this can be done with any MIDI interface.
2. Writing sounds into the FI requires very small sysex packages. I believe any MIDI interface will handle this, except if it has no sysex implementation at all. Two weeks ago I did not think that such an interface exists, but now I know.
3. The concern is when you need to upgrade your software, then you need a MIDI interface that handles faultlessly also large sysex packages. We have some time until the first software upgrade, during the while I will try to figure out the usability of some more popular MIDI interfaces.

Based on...??? Most (all?) of us still don't have tracking. I thought Monday and Tuesday were the days to expect that US orders would be processed...

First I though it was Monday, not Sunday (too many gigs all went weird in my head)
Second I live 180 miles from Future Impact epicenter , so wondering if I'm gonna be one of first to get it

Theoretically, yes. I'll have to do some testing here with a gC but we may have to enable a couple of things in the firmware to allow it to work that way. By default it passes DIN MIDI to and from the USB-A (rectangular host port) and not to the USB-B (square device port.) With a little bit of tweaking you should be able to use it for simple tasks like this.

I think this is the first time I've heard sound clips and it made me rethink my decision to buy. It sounds great, but I just don't see myself using it all that much. Im sure there's a lot to this pedal so I think I'll wait it out and see some more clips before I jump in. I think there might be something wrong with me...

Everything I've heard sounds wonderful. It's just a usefulness thing. Not sure what I'd do with it. I'll just hope that they don't go extinct before I decide to buy
