Yes, I have written two programs, one is the editor and the other is the software upgrade tool. Now an excellent programmer, Zsolt Rammer is writing a new editor, that will exist on PC and MAC platforms equally. It comes quite soon, we are already testing it. In the new program the two functions will be integrated together, and it will have a much nicer graphical interface, but functionally it will be the same.

That's what I thought. I've ordered it and will let you guys know. You said that a lot of your sounds are programmed in the banks, so even without a proper midi interface I'll have fun for months.

there will be another editor, easier to understand. for mac and windows. i also did an implementation in puredata which works on OS X windows and linux. i will share it later on if anybody needs it.

So jealous!! This is super awesome, but I'm super jealous! It's ok. Good things are worth waiting for. I have an order with Max at SFX for a Micro Fuzz and that is about 10 weeks, which really makes the speed at which people are getting their future impacts truly amazing.

Theoretically, yes. I'll have to do some testing here with a gC but we may have to enable a couple of things in the firmware to allow it to work that way. By default it passes DIN MIDI to and from the USB-A (rectangular host port) and not to the USB-B (square device port.) With a little bit of tweaking you should be able to use it for simple tasks like this.

I'm confused here. I thought the gHost (which I've had my eye on for my MS-60B for a while now) is a USB host. The FI doesn't have any USB-slave capability (or any USB capability at all)...

Does this mean that the gHost can also serve as a slave (so practically a USB-MIDI interface to connect to your computer)... Lost here...

I visited today a local music shop with a Future Impact and tested there all MIDI interfaces what they had on stock (for software upgrade, I assume editing will work with any interface). I extended the existing list with these results, here is the list as it is known now:

RME Fireface UC works perfectly
M-Audio Fasttrack-Pro works perfectly
M-Audio Midisport 1X1 works perfectly

Bespeco BM USB100 works perfectly
Edirol UM-1S works in 90%, sometimes errors but useable
Alesis USB MIDI cable not useable
Akai EIE-PRO not useable
Miditech Midilink-mini no sysex implementation at all, not useable

Question for those who have a unit. The old Deep Impact has an always-there bleed of your input signal even with the blend on max which you can somewhat tame by turning down the input control (the Markbass Super Synth has the same issue). Does the Future Impact have this behavior, or can you truly solo the 100% wet synth sounds?

this was covered in my demos for MANY sounds. you can easily go all wet. if it is not in the sound as default, just open the sound in the editor and get rid of the clean signal. no problem...
