What set ups have you guys been using with the Future Impact?

I am currently working with the fcb1010. I'm waiting for the UNO chip to upgrade it as a stompbox controller. Currently have it programmed to change programs. The fcb1010 engages the effect/synth patch but I still have to go back to the pedal to disengage. I'm also using several ehx pedals (freeze, Mel9, Cathedral), Ernie Ball volume pedal, and a TC Electronics Polytune. Pretty happy with it

Hey,

What has happened this Christmas was the biggest online ordering boom in the internet history, that's why a couple of our US clients haven't received their item until now. While normal delivery time outside the holiday season lowered very reasonably during the last two years (typically a few days), from the last days of November it has worsened dramatically. But it is a realistic hope to really have everybody's package arrived this week. Just ask for more info at the nearest post office, they will sure have something.

And yes, for some reason USPS never share tracking info with the Hungarian partner, don't ask me why. The rest of the world is trackable for us, even such exotic and now chaotic places like Venezuela.

Pleased to report that my Future Impact arrived yesterday in excellent condition. There were no clues as to where it's been for the last 6 weeks but all is well now.

I 2nd the interest. I'm really (mostly) hoping for more MIDI CC commands specifically expression control of the LFO RATE and the Envelope FREQUENCY.

In the meantime, here's a fun little diddy I made the other morning featuring the FI. There are sometimes a few effects after the FI in the chain, (ehx big muff, ehx enigma, mxr bass chorus, boss tera echo) but aside from the 3rd party drum beat, everything is bass guitar with all sounds generated from the FI. Headphones or speakers with a sub recommended.

no date sorry, it will be a big update as i understand it though. andras needs some more time to refine and polish things.
i only tested a new function so far that implements sort of a velocity control over the filter cutoff. this means you can open the filter with your playing strength and it will stay there for the whole duration of a note. very nice!!!

Nice! I love those playing feel triggered features. Makes the triggered synth sound more alive and less linear / static.

yeah, i also suggested that the synth volume may be influenced this way, and i think it will be done

Yeah, that'd seem like a simple enough one to implement.

When I originally received my FI I suggested mimicing as many of the Roland GR-55 PCM synth parameters as possible. They have a lot of excellent playing-response parameters that bring the otherwise static synths to life. VCA and VCF modulation, in both directions, legato to help prevent note attack retriggering unless you hit it hard, I think attack parameter modulation, all sorts of wonderful things.

Forgive me if this was discussed somewhere in this juggernaut of a thread! Perhaps this is a stupid question but here goes... I was wondering if it is possible to trigger the F.I. via analog input as well as the midi input simultaneously?
The reason I ask is because I am in the process of purchasing the FretTraX system to be retrofitted on my Nordy VP5. For those of you who are not familiar with this system, they basically wire in sensors under your frets and bridge (sometimes they replace the bridge) to send midi messages, sysex, etc., to an external synth. They give you a mode button on your bass for different midi options as well as a volume knob which sends the midi cc to your external synth. When I saw Victor Wooten at the Blue Note in NYC, he was using the system and he said the tracking is flawless with no latency. He couldn't stop talking about it. The one thing the system does not have yet is pluck detection, so the velocity of every note is constant. However he is developing a pluck detection method as well so hopefully it will respond dynamically in the future.

I still intend on using the F.I. as a sound module, and will soon be adding my Alesis nanobass, Korg X5DR, and perhaps a Motif. But I still love the way the F.I reacts and feels to an analog input as well. I was hoping that I would be able to blend the midi triggered sound of the F.I. with my analog input to the F.I. Accessing the F.I. via midi is flawless, and as we all know, accessing it analog can result in a false trigger soley due to technique, programming, etc.

So is this possible? Sorry for the long post. Thanks.

No I have not tried this because I have no way of doing so simultaneously yet. I wont be able to try it until I get the FretTraX system installed.

And to some this may sound redundant but it isn't. Trust me. I have tried triggering my F.I. patches with a keyboard and some patches do react different and sound different than when I trigger the F.I. from my bass output. At least IME.

I think it's being suggested that you could at least test your question. Presumably you have a USB-MIDI interface that you've used for patches and updates? Then get some sort of free MIDI program and test using that---send notes with your computer/tablet while playing your bass at the same time.

Understood but it would be nice to see both signals coming from the same device how it felt/reacted when playing, if it does work. It is a much more accurate re-creation of what I will be attempting to do. Sorry if I wasn't clear but I was looking for feedback more than just a "test" to see if it works. It's more like "how well does it work"? Does one source over take the other? There are alot of people here on TB that have hex pickups on their basses. Does one method have more latency than the other? etc. If no one is set up for that and can try it, thats fine, I guess I'll find out in about 8 weeks. Thanks.

At least with current firmware, this is NOT possible as stated in the manual. You can have MIDI and bass plugged in at the same time and use each individually, but the FI will default to the bass-in signal if it detects anything coming through.

Hey guys is there anyway while on road to change presets with Android tablet? Of course using some small Midi interface? Anyone did that?

MIDI Commander is what I used to use on Android. It's free. It's not nearly as flexible as something like MIDI Designer on iOS (which is not free), but it works. There may be better paid options, but I think it's the best free one on Android.
