Damnit! I was banking on constricted supply and an eventual $1000 resale value like the original DI.
What was the original price, I seem to remember over $400 after all the shipping fees through customs.
I'd love to hear from PandaMIDI if the updates will be for the existing pedal or if another is on horizon. Not sure I can control the GAS if they release another bass product.

When I bought it, I believe it was 399 Euro including VAT + shipping. So for me, (399 - VAT + shipping)*exchange rate + Paypal conversion fees (including a few bucks lost by the fact that they refunded the VAT instead of taking it off the initial price, so I got dinged on the conversion twice on that amount) wound up to be about $395 USD at the time. Then I got the TNT bill which I believe was for about $38.

328 Euro (299+shipping) is 366 USD right now. So we're talking about a 10% discount if that.
Somehow mine ended up being around $440 I believe. Just to clarify, I'm not bitter or trying to bad mouth them for putting their pedal on sale. That's totally fine and a couple friends are finally jumping in now. It's just that usually these things happen when a company is liquidating stuff for a new model. I don't know if that's actually what's happening, just hoping we would be the first to know if it is.

If I'm right about VAT vs. non-VAT, as I said, I think it's a pretty minimal sale.
Just looked up my original emails and I paid $426 Euros plus a $40ish import bill.

Can a New Order- Blue Monday or Depeche Mode- Everything Counts bass sound be achieved with the FI? From clips I've heard it would seem possible but I wonder how well it would trigger/track with faster staccato lines.

406 euro after they put Vat on there that I don't have to pay. Why can you not simply select your country so the Vat doesn't have to be refunded?
It is an obligation for UE resellers to collect VAT and send it to tax offices inside the union.

Works excellently (obviously with no tracking issues)... still monophonic though. Unless I was doing something dumb. You can try it with the editor quite easily.
Here are a few examples of the FI tracking, for anyone who is interested. I never have had a problem with it but sometimes it can be very finicky with certain runs/grooves.
