With 99 patches it was a good amount of time just to scroll and listen. I do have to put on the one patch I have programmed for use on my ES-5 but I also heard a few in passing that I can see using.

...also, like the C4, a good strategy for those who don't have the skills to build their own sounds from scratch is to pick out a number that are good 'starting points' then edit and play around with those in the editor until you get in the ballpark and also possibly learn how the sounds are constructed.

The DMC's allow for scrolling, but they're fairly well 'pre-programmed' for basic commands so I can't tell you how they're set up to do the PC changes.

There’s a couple of mine that sound better if you change the source from accent to CC1 (basically the way I originally designed them); notably nos. 1, 7, 36. For no. 36, change the curve in flexi 1 to linear and set its right-hand slider to 0. It might also need the left-hand flexi 1 slider dropping slightly - my balance got adjusted before release and it may be a bit dry-bass heavy.

Yes.

As already stated, external up scrolling via CC is in the next update.

If you use the MC6’s standard “PC scroll” commands, you can use it now.

If using the dedicated CC command you need to configure a second message on your button that sends out a value of 0 for that CC when you release it to stop the scrolling.

I’m totally getting one as it’ll overcome a few of the niggles/wishes I’ve had for the MC6 (unless they bring out a 12-button version).

More info on the screen, more buttons, dedicated toggle-page function, MIDI-over-TRS ports, extra external ports for pedals/switches.

Some of my niggles may be solved by firmware update; I submitted quite a lot of feature requests to James and he said that any feasible ones would be added.

It's been a while since I added any patches as I've been really busy with other stuff (getting my head around the MC6 MKII and what it can do). Here's a token 1. It's one I showcased in a chordal clip earlier. I've adapted it here so that it is for single lines only but there are MIDI expression controls for LFO speed(CC3) and filter envelope attack time (CC4).

Updated to v3 and enjoying the craziness. Two questions tho if anyone has clues:
- The input level knob seems to expect an oddly hot signal... is that everyone's experience? Even when running my bass active, I have the knob almost maxed out to get to the sweet spot (red light only on peaks). I don't often run passive, but if I did I'd basically need to max out the FI input knob.
- More of a case-specific issue, but is anyone having success in getting the FI to communicate to a Mac running the new editor by way of usb connection to a Disaster Area controller functioning as a Midi interface? Awhile back I had that working, but now its not. My Mac and the FI Editor software both see the DMC-3XL interface, but don't appear to see or communicate with the FI. I'll keep troubleshooting when have time, but any success stories/tricks would be welcome.

Are you on channel 1? There’s a bug (fixed in v3.01) which only allows the editor to communicate with the FI on channel 1.

My input knob is at about 1-2pm for my passive bass.

Aha... no I'm on channel 3, thanks much for that intel (sorry if I missed it earlier in this thread)... makes me feel slightly less inept.

Re input level, I've never thought of or noticed my bass having low output otherwise, but I spose that's the likely conclusion.

I use an active bass (Fodera) and I cannot run the input gain hotter than noon. I usually run it around 10:30

I'm not sure if I am understanding your response correctly but it is very usable for me. If you mean it being odd for me because I cannot turn the input past noon, I actually don't find that as odd at all. There is more than sufficient headroom on the input. Perhaps the reason you run your input higher than me in active mode is because my internal pre-amp on my Fodera is gained up more? I adjusted the internal Fodera pre to provide me a little more output. Maybe that is the difference?

Sorry if I wasn't clear... I meant it's wild we have similar basses yet such different FI input settings, and that it is usable but odd for me to have to crank the FI input knob. I'd expect to be more around noon or below, as you are, what with an active bass. Owell I guess!
