@Andras Szalay

I had my FIEditor stop working today (Mac High Sierra) and tried to delete and reinstall to no avail. I fixed the error and got it to work again.

The reason the FI Editor stopped working is because I moved some of my .pr3 (patch) files to a new folder and in particular the last .pr3 file that was loaded into the FI Editor. The file "settings.ini" (located at: /Users/'Your Name'/Library/Application Support/FIEditor/settings.ini ) has a line starting with "lastfile=" and then the path to the last .pr3 file that was loaded in the FI Editor. Using TextEdit, I opened the "settings.ini" file and updated the path to where the file had been moved. I saved the file and opened FIEditor without any issues.

I suggest keeping all .pr3 files in one place and not loading any downloaded files from the Downloads folder. Move the .pr3 files to your master location before loading them into the FI Editor.

Hopefully this can be helpful to someone in the future.

I’m happy to share my MC6 FI setup file if you get one. You can basically load it onto the pedal and it’ll work right away (providing your FI is set to receive on channel 1 (it receives on all channels by default so will be fine if you’ve never altered anything)).

Question. Do you use the MC6 with only the FI or to control other pedals as well? I have Nemesis delay that I would want to control as well. Feel free to take this to a PM if you want. Thanks.

I use it to control a bunch of Source Audio pedals and some others in addition to the FI.

Just wondering, has anyone tried to create a sweepable lowpass filter like the Iron Ether Xerograph? I've tried to do it, but I'm not really getting it to work.
Pretty easy to do. Set cutoff slider to the midpoint in the editor. No envelope depth. Set the global VCF control to +/-4 octaves to get the maximum sweep.

Haven’t tried either but some of the FI patches run into the XD sound phenomenal.

This is exactly what I do. I run my Future Impact into an XD (I used to run it into a Moog MF101, but that big pedal is just too big). Sweeps are massive and I find the XD makes the Future Impact so much more of a synth.

I've had good luck using MIDI and an expression pedal as well before I upgraded to the newest version of the Future Impact. Since upgrade, I've mostly just left the FI on one patch and turn it and the XD on at the same time. I plan to build out a few banks of patches again like I had before the upgrade, just been side-tracked with other projects. My setup does include an expression pedal sending MIDI data so I occassionally will just scroll and sample patches and see what the expression pedal does. Some of the default patches are killer w MIDI expression...others less so.

Only a handful of the factory patches have MIDI assignments and these are prefixed by “MIDI” in the title; (some of) the others will just add LFO to the filter and/or the pitch if that parameter was programmed on the patch. This was a deliberate choice on the part of Panda to have the large majority of factory patches be playable without external gear. This meant that some of the patches I submitted for factory patches were altered before release to remove/alter MIDI assignments. For example, factory patch 1 morphs depending on playing dynamics whereas I originally programmed that morph onto an expression pedal. This is why I released the original version on the file share site so that users who have expression pedal hooked up can play the patch as originally intended. Lots of the patches I have uploaded do interesting things with the expression pedal assigned to CC1 (and sometimes CC3) and these are usually labelled in the description. Have you tried those?

I downloaded everything. Havent gone through them all. Some respond to expression some dont. I had my setup to the prev "filter" cc and mever changed things since upgrading. Enjoy using patch 01.5 w an Iron Ether xerograph deluxe to sweep filters.
