If you use the method I mentioned, you won’t need to use a counter for it. However, you may wish to have a counter displayed on the MC6 itself (using %Ex (where x is the number of the counter you are using) in the text of the preset name), in which case the method you have used is good.

Yes , I need a counter on the MC6. It sends midi wirelessly from a separate board. I don’t look at my main board so all my info needs to be on the MC6.

That’s crazy, sorry you’re having to field those. Have you got a standard template reply that you could automate to point them in the direction of the Panda database and/or the v3.60 editor?

Are they all coming via the old patch sharing thread? Though I’m loath to bump that thread, it might be worth adding a post which states the folders are no longer active and points to the database/editor where the files are now located (I believe previously we just pointed at this main FI thread).

Don't bother Q. These are people who no longer come to Talkbass. I had an automated message set up as well. Thanks though. Not really a problem I just thought it was funny to share. I also just recently deleted the share, that is probably why I got an uptick this month. People who had access to the share but no longer come to talkbass.

New - impending FI user here.

After buying a C4 when it came out and then selling on after a few months, I bought another one to give it another go at adding some synth tones as well as freeing up some board space of my OC-2 and Proton. Sadly, I again found the C4 filter algorithms lacking the soul I needed, and the OC-2 duties also not being up to the task. ( I politely say that SA do make great products, but for my needs I need another flavour).

After a lot of reading and YT’ing , I found the FI and these threads, and ordered a new unit from Panda. I will be integrating this into my system, with a GT1k-core and MC-6 and am looking forward to having some fun programming some patches. From my ears the demos show the FI to have quite an unique sound - and interested to learn why that is.

Nice. The MC6 opens up loads of control possibilities on the FI.

I have also set up a dedicated Facebook group for the FI which is frequented by many people who aren’t on TB.

Drop me a line when you get it, there’s a cool way to set up the MC6 within the FI editor so that you can run everything to and from it, but then can simply disconnect the USB port if you’re taking the board to a gig and don’t need the computer.

I shall do - cheers! My intention is to look into mapping some params from one of my other controllers ( MidiFighter Twister) for a more tactile interaction, and even possibly Max/MSP or Live if the set continues to move that way....

Have you detailed this on TB or FB? Its about time I really get deeper into my MC6 + FI combo!

Here is Peter's previous quote above about using the MC6 as a Midi USB interface.

If you're on a Mac, you'll need to set up the MC6 in the Audiomidi utility as well. @sunbeast

As an addendum, normal MIDI Thru should probably be set to off to avoid infinite loops. If you're adding in other devices in addition to the FI then you should enable MIDI Thru on the FI too.
