If, however, the filter cutoff also suddenly jumped a bit after note on along with the pitch, that would make the glitch more perceivable/bothersome. Especially of there's resonance on the filter.

I just wonder about this discussion. Of course the VCF of the FI has the possibility to track the pitch. If you open the editor in the upper right corner you find PITCH FOLLOW, this is exactly what you are missing. It is so effective that you can easily create a sound without using oscillators, just by setting the VCF to resonation, and let it rack the pitch.

OK then. I had been going off of what was said in previous post(s). So I extended the misconception. I'm glad to know that what I conjecured about is not the case.

Hi. I'm wondering if someone could explain the different roles of the VCF Lin and VCF Log volume sliders in the FI. I have read the manual but I'm not grasping what they are used for in combination. I'm currently just setting the levels of both so I get the output level I want from the Synth path, but I wonder if I'm missing something more important. Cheers

They just have a different taper so react differently when a pedal or control source is assigned to move them.

They both need to be at a non-zero value in order to be audible.

Right. I use CC2 to assign VCF volume to an expression pedal to adjust the synth level in my FX loop. I just assumed that was sweeping VCF LOG and so wondered what the setting for VCF LIN was doing. More curiosity than anything. I love the sounds I am getting from the FI and feel like I have a lot of control over parameters.

Yep, there’s plenty to control. Lots of my patches (prefixed “QM”) have assignments on CC1; try using an expression sending that CC on those and see the stuff I’ve done.

Nice! Thanks. I really appreciate the work you have put in to help make the FI user friendly. My Sub37 is getting a lot less work now that I'm figuring out how to replicate some of my go-to sounds with the FI. The FI is in a big box but it's still much easier to carry around than the sub37 :)

The FI can be rehoused in one of @GisserD ’s Future Compact boxes.

Been getting extensive use of this beauty with a new project. It’s so empowering having all those synth sounds on tap. As Im getting to know the editor I’m blown away at the other effects I’ve been able to use the FI for and free up pedal space.

One of the surprise uses for me was that I’m using it as a great clean octave pedal that only brings in the octaves as I play harder with dynamics. Sounds great in Daft Punks “Get Lucky”.

While the box was not designed with this option in mind, the following layout would be possible: CV and Gate would be connected to the two empty pins of the MIDI OUT socket, and we provide a Y jumper cable from the DIN plug to two mini TRS sockets to connect to a modular synthesizer. What do you think about this? Any ideas?

I am responding to this late.

1. I would like another toggle to bank down, instead of double tap and hold.
( I have a rebuilt ankle and it's a fuss. I could change feet but it feels wonky. )
Currently using tech 21 midi mongoose just to bank down.
2. A display with text for the preset names. It's great to name my creations in the FI editor but it doesn't translate to the pedal / or the Tech 21 mongoose.

*** If I had to choose, The Display over the toggle.

So, so late to respond.
Andras had me send the pedal to Tech 21 and a quick turnaround had the FI back in my hands after the guts were swapped. Basically a new pedal in the original box.

I heard someone rehouses the FI in a smaller footprint. Link?

P.S. wait, wha wha what?? You wrote the manual? Do you ever sleep? Who are you?
Don't answer any of that? You're way too busy and so valuable. Back to work Quats!!
