Also, in conjunction with it, experiment with the levels of the other waveforms in an oscillator as you’ll get variations of foldover distortion when the combined levels go over a total of 127.

And don’t forget, you can animate any of these functions with LFOs/envelopes/dynamics via the flexis.

They had quite a backlog of orders to work through from the initial launch date and can only take a limited number to the post on a few days of the week. The first batch was plenty big so it’s not a pre-order. Just small team and a lot of orders to get through.

FWIW, I ordered mine on 4/29, but about a week later, realized I was going to be out of town for an extended period, so I asked Gabor to hold it until I let him know when to ship it. I asked him on June 5 to go ahead and ship it out. He shipped it on Friday, June 7 from Budapest, Hungary, and DHL delivered it to me in Georgia, USA the following TUESDAY! I still can't believe it got here so fast. And DHL initially had an expected delivery date of that MONDAY, but I requested they delay it for a day, because I wasn't actually back home yet.

I'm still learning it, but loving it - used it on my first gig last weekend. It's an amazing beast, indeed.

Spent 45 minutes today trying to connect the FI4 to the editor. (After already having done so successfully before) Read and reread the manual. Tried all sorts of voodoo, nothing worked. Then I reached into the wayback machine of troubleshooting, and restarted my MacBook. Boom, there it was.

I have to confirm this. The FI4 would not be the product that you all like here without the excellent manual that Peter wrote!!!

Quite a few of you considered to build the FI into a second hand box (Future Compact), or even decided to do so. Let me ask you, what is the reason, the motivation to go for a new box? Is it because of the smaller size, or the look of the box?

Size. FI is quite big and a lot of people control it with midi so no need for the buttons.

Seconded, definitely size. When turned on its side, the full-size FI is just a few cm shorter than an HX Stomp. Right-side up, the FI hangs over the rails of my PT nano, both top and bottom

Size - I use a Line 6 Helix and will control the FI via MIDI from that while it's in the loop; so the smaller I can make this pedal, the better.

Smaller size and more compatible with a modern pedalboard is the reason. I didn’t go the Future Compact route because I did a separate rehouse with better art with my V1. I would have bought the new one if it came in a new slicker 1590bb or slightly bigger box

Yes, I really liked that design. Buttons may become more necessary depending on how app switching is handled in the future upgrades. (Obviously I’d like it to happen seamlessly in the background but we’ll have to see how that pans out.)

@Andras Szalay size is the reason I keep considering rehouseing one of my FI pedals simply in order to fit it better on one of my pedal boards in an effort for most efficient use of space. OTOH I do appreciate the size of the box in stand alone or table top use and the legacy of using the same size box as the Deep Impact and UniBass. The UniBass continues to be one of my favorite effects since it was introduced and has a permanent place on my other pedalboard.

You know the distortion section in the FI can do Unibass duties…

Hey! I bought a Future Impact a few weeks ago and I’m really liking it. I run it in the fx loop of a quad cortex, and Im trying to figure out if there is a way to send create your own midi mapping /modify existing ones. Unless I’m missing something it seems that to scroll to next or previous preset I need to send a midi cc toggle that is either >= 64 to start the cc, or < 64 to stop the cc, ( Im using cc 67 and 88). Now that seems fine until you realize it moves one and then starts scrolling through presets at a fairly quick rate🙃. Is there any way to just send a cc and it goes up or down one preset, without the need for tap dancing?

Will spend some time this summer to experiment with all the features, it sure seems versatile!
