Future Impact now available!! WAS: deep impact reissue!!! interested?

When you say “changed one”, how did you go about doing this? Did you highlight the patch in the left pane and click “send to bank” or did you drag it from the left pane onto a blank tile? (Either should work.)

That error message sounds like the editor maybe isn’t pointing to the cache folder.

One thing to try is to close the editor and delete the settings text file. (A new one will be created next time you launch the editor.) Its location is given in the first FAQ in the manual.
I deleted what I didn't want with the erase button. Then dragged what I wanted from the left pane. I will try your suggestion.
Thanks,

Thanks,
I deleted the FIEditor4 file, quit the program, reopened and reset the midi input and output settings to UM-ONE. I deleted one patched, dragged one patch into the manager. I auditioned it, selected it, and then tried to upload to my FI and got "This directory does not contain any FI Programs!"

Shoot a video of what you are attempting and post it here please.

Are you using the “upload to FI” button?

Sounds like you are trying to upload directly from a folder on your PC rather than via the tiles (as the tiles upload from a cache folder).

Also, why not audition the patches directly in the left hand pane?

I am auditioning the patches in the left hand pane, just was confirming that it was playing when i got it into the tile window. I'll send a video.

I replaced one of the patches in the tile window with a V4 default sound and I was able to upload to my FI. But when I try with the Lyle Mays patch from the bass list, no luck. I was assuming that all the patches available would work on this pedal. Is that not the case? Do I need to do something to them to make them work? And I can do all of this from the manager window if not editing any patches, correct?
Thanks,

When I installed Neuro 3 yesterday suddenly my FIv4 stopped being recognized as a MIDI device after it had been fine for months, grrr. I uninstalled Neuro and restarted and it started working again. Beware.

@Quatschmacher & @Andras Szalay Dummies such as myself would love a how to video on these processes that likely seem simple and clear cut for you that mystify, baffle us and keep us from getting the full potential of your hard and creative work. Just saying, as well written as the manual is some processes bog down my feeble mind that once demonstrated would get me sharing my sounds and sampling others.

All patches should work on v4.

Again, video would be most helpful.

You may possibly have encountered a Mac-only bug. I have no way of testing this myself as I don’t own a Mac.

EDIT - I’ve just taken a look. As I pointed out to you earlier, if a patch has a special character in the the title, this can cause issues. Rename the Lyle patch to remove the apostrophe (via the manger tile) and try uploading again to see if that works.

This patch uploads fine on my windows machine on v3 and I think I’ve loaded it on v4 as well but perhaps the Mac version has a problem with apostrophes.

Also, try uploading other v3 patches that have only alphanumeric characters in the title and see if they work.

Also, you did drag the file rather than the folder, right? A folder has square brackets around it.

What exactly are you struggling to do/comprehend?

Some are loading some not. The Gastric Choruses and the Lyle Mays patches won't load. I'll try renaming. I am just dragging the file, not the folder.
Thanks,
Let me know. (Are those a mixture of pr3 and prg extensions or are they all pr3?)

The Lyle patch works fine on V4 Windows, even with the apostrophe (I’ve just tested it).

Are you uploading files singly (by highlighting the tile before pressing “upload”)? Or are you trying to write all 99 patches at once?

They are pr3 patches. I originally tried to upload all 99. Now I am going one by one.

Here's a video
Thanks.

What was the outcome of removing the apostrophe from the name of the Lyle patch before uploading?

The fact the the crotchet button makes no sound on some patches is normal if the patch doesn’t use the oscillators. (This is detailed in the manual.)
