OK, it would seem that there's a Mac-specific problem with certain characters. My guess is that in the gastric patches the hyphen ("-") might be the issue. Try removing that and see if it works then. If that doesn't do it then it might be the spaces (but I think that unlikely).

Please report back if that works. If it does, I can report it as a bug and hopefully get it fixed.

removing the apostrophe in the Lyle patch worked. I'll let you know about the hyphens.

removing the hyphen and/or apostrophe worked. Some patches load with a hyphen, some don't.

Thanks for reporting back, could you please write down an example of each so that I can forward them.

I'm wondering if another stumbling block is the number of characters in the name. If the name is long and the hyphen is near the end, it may be getting lopped off when adding a category to the tile, which would then allow it to be loaded. Or it could simply be the number of characters.

How many characters are in the file name of one example of a hyphenated name that does load, and how many are in an example of one that does not load?

Zsolt, who's the editor programmer, is unavailable this week but hopefully he'll be able to look into it next week. It would be most helpful to have some examples to send him to help diagnose the problem.

Tuck-Octaver-1 Clean03, gastric BOSS OC-2 01, and Madness2-Muse loaded fine.
I had to remove hyphens from a bunch but i know No Doubt hella Good was one.
I had to remove the apostrophe from The Ain't Nobody, The Lyle Mays, and Can't Stop patches.
i don't have the time to sort through all the patches in the left pane to find the original names and I'm not sure at this point if I know which list I grabbed them from. I could send my folder with the patches I uploaded or a screen shot of my tile window if that would help.

I don't need all of them. I just need one that loads fine with the hyphen and one that doesn't load with the hyphen.

I also am trying to make sounds from scratch but having no luck creating an auto wah. I'm missing something as I can get a signal, but no sweep. I followed the manual and still cant figure it out as I just either get the raw bass signal or nothing. I think I've messed with every slider in the editor. Is there a tutorial on starting from scratch to create something like this? Maybe a screenshot of a basic dry bass into the filter section that results in an auto wah? All the patches I started looking through use a synth input to the filter section.

There's a tutorial in the manual for creating an envelope controlled filter. You could just substitute the envelope control for an LFO if that is what you mean by "auto wah".

Also, read the section on the VCF mixer in the manual. There's a slider in the filter mixer that uses the signal from your input signal. You then have to have the VCF outputs in the main mixer turned up.

Cranked the vcf inputs and the outputs.

"The filter will need to be set with a sufficiently high cutoff to allow sound to come through; start with 52".

From the manual above. Which parameter is to be set to 52. It just says "the filter".

Could be what I'm missing.

The filter cutoff frequency slider (VCF FRQ). I'm pretty sure that's mentioned in the explanation of the the filter in the relevant section of the manual on page 54. The terms "cutoff" and "filter frequency" are used fairly interchangeably in synthesis discussions.

I think there is a stock preset that is just a basic envelope follower that can help you see the settings and work as a blueprint to edit from (at least there was on the v3 FI).

"Cutoff" refers to the VCF FRQ (frequency) parameter of the filter, which is the start point of the filter before it is swept by an envelope. If you set it too low on a low-pass filter then you would have no sound til the envelope was triggered (which doesn't sound like your issue). If you set the filter frequency too high then the sweep might happen only in the high frequencies and be difficult or impossible to hear. Make sure you have Instr (instrument, meaning your clean signal) in the VCF turned up and turn all the other VCF Mixer sliders down. Then turn up the Env Follow parameter to taste under the Filter and turn the AD/ADSR parameter down- this ensures that the filter follows your playing rather than being triggered by the set envelope. Then in the Main Output Mixer make sure each of the VCF sliders are turned up (each will have different response- play around with both) and turn down the Instruments slider (unless you want to blend in unfiltered clean signal)

There are other filter parameters that will affect the sound, like the New/Vintage switch, the slope switch, the BPF (a parallel bandpass filter), the VCF type (probably you'll want a LPF for bass, though some filters use a BPF like the MXR Bass Envelope Filter). Env Follow parameter changes the action of the filter as well.

Having some fixed envelope actually yields a better result than envelope follower alone. I think I amended the tutorial to mention that routing envelope follower to ADSR-to-filter depth via a flexi gives the most pleasing results. I'll have to check. If I didn't, that's a cool trick to use.
