Future Impact now available!! WAS: deep impact reissue!!! interested?

I would love to be able to play chords, but I bet polyphonic audio to midi is very difficult.
It is especially for bass but EHX and Boss offer options for that but they are going to be presets for the most part but there are a few helpful adjustable parameters. Boss SY200 tracks well and has a wide array of available sounds
EHX "9" series offer interesting sound options just don't throw anything below the open A string.

Future Impact V4.5 Is ready!

The greatest development in the long history of the Future Impact, software V4.5 for the FI V4 and FI V4 VIP models is ready!

The three greatest news: 99 Yamaha DX7 compatible new FM sounds, Setlist Mode and ZERO Latency Mode are working wonderfully. Setlists can be programmed very easily on board, without a computer.

FM sounds are combined with the VCF section and the Effect section of the FI (Chorus, Delay, Overdrive, EQ).

New VIP devices that will be delivered with V4.5 will have new footswitches. On request from our customers, we eliminate the risk of accidentally pressing the encoder button together with the ON/OFF switch by using 4.5 millimeters higher footswitches with improved quality and lighter switching action.

Thank you for your patience!

Please read the Installation chapter of the FI_V4.5_Addendum07.pdf file before starting the installation!

WOW - I hadn't messed with my FI in a while, so I had just hooked it up to make sure my MIDI connection was all working, and to re-familiarize myself with the interface. Got all that going, then went to the panda-audio website just to see what was there, and was surprised to see this announcement posted! Looking forward to seeing the 4.5 update for myself. Thanks!

Great news! So just to be sure if I order a new FI from your website today it will come with the 4.5 installed in the new modified foot switch?

Just get a quad/quint/hex pickup and 4/5/6 Future Impacts (Futures Impact?) and you're there. Easy peasy lemon squeezy.
I am crazy enough to have considered this as an owner of a few hex pickup-equipped instruments! The Future Impact tracking is faster and more accurate than the comparable sound engines in any of the Hex-compatible Roland/Boss products I’ve tried (the SY pedal Dynamic Synth engines being exceptions as they are not dependent on pitch-tracking)

It’s even faster now.

Rats. I hope I didn't mess anything up. I made the mistake of not reading the Addendum COMPLETELY, and I started the Firmware Update without having the pedal in Update mode. The update seemed to complete normally, but the pedal is still at version 4.03. Tried it again, this time with it in Update mode, and now I get an error when I click "Ok" on the Firmware update folder (FYI, the Explorer navigation brings you only to the Folder, does not allow you to choose a particular file).

I tried restarting the Editor, and rebooting the pedal into Update mode, but no luck. Went back to the 4.0 Editor and I can still connect to the pedal and save and load files to/from it (works with either the 4.0 or 4.5 editor), so I know the MIDI connection is good.

What next?

If the pedal wasn’t in update mode when you attempted to install the file, nothing will have happened. Simply follow the instructions to the letter. Check BOTH your MIDI connections are selected and connected. Communication error is normally if you’ve not plugged the FI MIDI output into the computer.

Wooo excited to try this out tomm! Are you able to make set lists not on the FI but in the manager? How will it work programming and controlling it via midi with my Morningstar? Are the programs 0-99 then 100-199 or does it not work like that hadn't seen it in the addendum

All covered in the addendum. Setlists can only be programmed on the pedal at the moment. Setlist is 99 patches, accessed the same way as normal patches have been so far (either via footswitches or remote PC messages).

When not in setlist mode you send bank messages to switch between the VA and FM engine. Each uses PC 1-99 as before.
