Yes it toggles. I don't want it to toggle, I want it to switch it off, no matter the state the pedal is in.
So if it's on I want it off, and if it's off I want it to remain off.
CC69 does not do that. It toggles.
There is no off in fm mode it's the only way. But if you toggle it on on first press then off on second problem solved for now it's the current work around @Andras Szalay this should be addressed asap bc everyone who uses midi w the fi is going to have the same issue
I've loaded V4.5 and am auditioning the OEM preset tones. I would LOVE a zoom training on this pedal and how it can be setup using the editor. As I am not a synth guy in any manner, I have very little familiarity regarding how to tweak tones, Let alone all the different functions that are available in this newest version.
of course, I'll be reviewing the latest manual, but that can never replace a live stream with Q&A.
Honestly I'd be willing to pay to attend such a training. I'm sure it would shorten the learning curve.

An YouTube instructional video would be great. Many pedals have them.
Just updated to v4.5 and loving the FM sounds, but ran into something frustrating: when in FM mode, MIDI Thru stops working entirely. My downstream devices stopped responding and I spent way too long troubleshooting before figuring out why.
The addendum mentions that MIDI Triggering isn't available in FM mode, but I didn't expect that to also kill Thru for everything downstream in the chain.
I can work around it with the MC8, but for less flexible devices this might be a bigger problem.
Is this a known issue?

So finally after UPS getting it to clear customs 3 times it got here... initial thoughts in a bullet point list (cross posted from basschat) ....
- Most importantly - it actually fits on my board
- v4 sounds sound good
- updating it - you follow the instructions and wiggle the right knobs at the right time and it works.
- v4.5 sounds - way better - half of them are probably the same but there's a relief in hearing usable synth bass tone to start
- Quatschmacher was gracious enough to let me try his last year, so I knew roughly what I was getting, but I like it - it sounds and feels musical. I owned the C4 twice, and it is good but I always felt it had a kinda aggressive quality, and something going on in the attack of the note I didn't love, this seems more musical and the latency is a lot less so it feels connected to your fingers
- it's not plug and play out the box - you have to fiddle with the note on and note off to set it for your bass/playing. And you have to play clean.
- Plugging in the editor... I don't know enough about synthesis but it's not difficult to tweak and find other nice sounds. If I learn my synth acronyms then I'm sure I'll make even more sense out of it!!
- Switching to the FM side requires the manual and the menu to switch, the note on/note off settings don't carry over.
- Oh the menu, that screen... it's worse than the H9 I used to own, def needs the manual to decipher what's going on.
- Then into FM side there's lots of really nice sounds
- In FM mode I'm getting a wierd click at the start of each note. It seems to be less if you turn it to accurate tracking - it also happens if you run your mouse across the keyboard in the editor. Bit odd. It seems to be a artefact of the tracking?
- My 5 and 8 year olds like the pan pipes sounds
- A lot of my delving into effects was trying to get this idea thats in my head for a certain situation out there, there are sounds in here that will let me do this - sent into my HX stomp I can add more delay, or reverb as needed.
- Due to pulling a couple of pedals off my board I've not tried putting the more synthy saw wave type things into my PF101 moogerfooger type filter, but I expect it could be fun!
- I'm guessing FI should go at start of chain, before compressor?
I found this, and the editor keyboard has them too, so not my technique! The 'accurate' setting has a lot less (with obvious downsides)

Just curious guys - I know Mohini Dey is a fan of the FI pedal, but I was struggling to find a YT or Insta clip of anyone using the FI pedal on bass in a live band situation? Given it's been out for 12 years I was hoping I'd come across some real life footage - can you point me in the right direction please?
I'm guessing a bunch of you on this thread are using yours with your bands at gigs? If you have any live footage to share of the FI in action that would be awesome!

Yesterday a guy visited me who bought an FI V4 with the original 4.12 software early February. He plays in a Bavarian folk music band, and the tuba player left them. He wanted to replace the tuba with a bass guitar through the FI, driving through MIDI a very poor tuba sampler program running on a mobile phone. I was skeptical about this project, I told him that if it does not work, he can bring back the FI, I buy it back. This is why he came, they were not satisfied with the latency, which is of course the summary of the FI latency, the sampler program and the mobile phone audio driver. Before giving him back the money I asked him to try with a 4.5 device in my office. I know that I upgraded the MIDI tracking routine in 4.5 to SPEED and ZERO mode, but the result absolutely surprised even me. The difference is very huge! At the end I just upgraded his FI to 4.5, and he left with a big smile!
@Andras Szalay - you didn't have a Bavarian Tuba DX7 patch in the 4.5 shortlist?!

Just listened to the recent YouTube video through my live gig IEMs (64 Audio N8), and... dang... The FI does sound ridiculously nice. The new presets are very well thought out and sound very convincing for the most part. This is really tempting me to give the FI platform another try.
I updated to 4.5 yesterday, no hitches. Then, while still somewhat jet lagged, I started to try programming a setlist. I failed miserably from the start.
Went to bed.
I've decided to integrate the FI on my small gig board, so Setlist is something I would love to use. I was fumbling at first, re-reading the addendum, and finally figured it out. It's actually quite simple, and very useful for me. One of my stumbling blocks might be a bug, so I present it here.
Taken from the addendum:
Programming the Setlist
While in Setlist mode, the Edit wheel is used to set both the sound-engine mode and the program for each step.
Navigate to the step you want to programme using the Program footswitch or an external MIDI controller.
Press the Edit wheel to cycle through the three (IN MY CASE, TWO) available sound-engine modes, indicated by the decimal points:
1. VA with audio input (bS.A, SP.A, Gt.A): no decimal point is lit.
2. VA with MIDI input (Snt, EUI): the second decimal point is lit, and the first decimal point blinks in response to a MIDI Note-On message.
3. FM with audio input (bS.F, SP.F, Gt.F): the first decimal point is lit.
On my FI there was no decimal point in either VA or FM engine. I could tell the engines were changing because I could hear the different sounds, but the audio was the only indicator I had. After some trial and error I have saved the first four steps of my setlist, and I'm ready for rehearsal this Sunday. And I'm a very happy man.
