Fuzzrocious Club Quadratic Equation

Thanks. When I played guitar I used to run multiple distortion boxes, never tried it with bass. I'll add it to my wish list. I'd like to get a king rat at some point too.

its always fun. though, if you are going to run several dirt pedals at once, for me anyway, you have to set them each so that they will work well together, volume levels, eq etc. I run an ocd and rat tail together sometimes, and it took me a while to find the right way to set each so that they would sound good together, and also solo'd. awesome combo those 2..

I never ever stack fuzz with other dirt. thats just me though.

RT into TAFM plays SUPER nicely together as well. The other way around sounds a little funny, but using the RT to drive stuff always sounds nice.

Can I have a number? I have Stache Plus, which is up for sale, but it's being replaced by a tricked out Stache with a gate and 2nd diode toggle. I'm hoping (and pretty sure, from experience with the Plus) that the Sustain control will take care of all my feedback needs. Kid paint for the win!

Side question, which I'll pose here because we all keep Ryan so busy - is it at all possible to install an aftermarket blend w/expression? I'm using a Barge Concepts Blender right now, which is great.. but it's a whole other pedal to take around and power up. Ryan mentioned space inside the enclosure would be an issue, but do expression mods require massive redesigns of the pedal? Is it not as simple as a tone or volume pot being put in?

Yeah, i mean the RT into Swollen Pickle doesn't shite or anything. It sounds earth shattering, I just prefer my fuzz to be smoother rather than gritty. na'm sayin??

that could change, but there's nothing in my set that requires that particular sound at the moment.

It's not about massive redesigns to anything. The way the pots and 2 diode toggles are aligned, along with the PCB, does not allow the room for an expression jack (they are large).

You can fit this in a 1790-sized box, as I've explained before ;).

Pondering the addition of a germanium B:assmaster to my board and having the Dark Driving, Rat Tail and BDPG to combine with it. Anyone tried any of these combos?

Dude if you are thinking of going that route I would SERIOUSLY recommend looking into the Iron Ether Oxide fuzz if you haven't.
It can get very similar tones to the B:ass plus alot more, is WAY smaller and way cheaper, especially used.
I've had all the A:sses and for me there is no comparison...Oxide FTW! That's how I roll anyways.
Just trying to help you out bro...Peace.

Great info Allen. Thanks for that! Really appreciate your input.

I actually owned an Oxide and as much as I loved the build quality, it's take on the b:assmaster was a little too synthy for me. That might just be the b:assmaster sound though and I'm looking at the wrong option. I was wondering if the Germanium would get me closer to the vibe I had in mind - which is a bit less brash but still big sounding and fuzz based. Clean blend appeals too. What I have in mind is something sitting on the milder side of fuzz, maybe a little bit vintage. I know Im well covered for overdrive and distortion now, just wanting the final step up in dynamics on my board. Thoughts on other good options? TAFM? Fuzzhugger Bass Bloom maybe?

Ok gotcha. Have you looked at the Wounded Paw Attack Goat? That is another B:ass based fuzz with the bit of octave up. Very cool pedal. I've owned one and liked it. Again it is smaller than the B:ass and way cheaper as well.

TAFM, Bass Bloom and Grey Stache all rule hard. They are all on my board and always will be. But they don't have that bit of octave up that the B:ass has, if that is particularly what you are looking for.

Thanks. I'll check out the Attack Goat. Octave up wasn't important - more just that level of presence in a loud mix so the fuzz cuts through. That's one thing about the Oxide - it cuts through brilliantly.

I've sold three pedals this week. First part of that sale is to now add a Stache - which Im doing straight away. 2nd part is to add in an ugly and heavy neighbor to the four Fuzzrocious pedals that will live on my board :) my goal is to hit this last pedal with all sorts of stacked Fuzzrocious sounds.

Oooohhhhh....TAFM FOR THE WIN!!! I've never heard a pedal that can take it like the TAFM!
It is the Debbie Does Dallas of Fuzz pedals! :D
If you can, get one with the gate switch mod. I thought there was one in the classifieds. Hear me now and believe me later hahaha!!!

See the top left corner? That goes to my Lunar Echo then to my amp.

Awesome! That's exactly what I'm looking for. Thanks man.
