Fuzzrocious Club - Sextuplet

whats everyones demon settings? i'm at vol 3:00 tone 12:30 gain 12:30 and keep going back and forth between highpass and lowpass they both sound great cant decide

I use the DK and mine is always switched to high. I have my gain at super high, around 3/4 oclock. My tone is around 12/1 oclock, nice boosted mids tone. Volume is at utility, which is pretty low because of the gain setting, but that allows for the super tight gate with the DK.

i dont really understand the gate and how to utilize it

It gives a cool different effect to the distortion, instead of ringing out, the gate chops off quick into silence. Ryan installed the octave circuit into my demon king. So when I use the octave-distortion-gate all at the same time, it gives a really cool synthy sound to my bass. I like to use it on grinding lead lines, gives it a nice punch through the mix.

i can't get mine to cut out when i want it to though, do i need my gain dimed? it works because it has cut out a few times but i wasnt expecting it to and when i try to make it it doesnt

I think it cuts more if you have the volume low, you should boost the gain to compensate for the volume drop though, that is where I find it most noticeable and controllable.

Settings shouldn't necessarily matter for the gate/boost to gate your signal. The only thing that would not allow it to gate would be if your instrument has a lot of gain or are staticy/whispery/noisy, or if there's a pedal signal feeding continuously into it (like a noisy muff feeding back).
Take your instrument at full or near full volume and hit a note (no other pedals on before the DK). With the gate/boost on, it should chomp down on the signal, gating it as the note sputters out (hint - don't try to sustain your notes...play to the gate).

I noticed that the DD and the BDPG almost have an octavey sort of sound to the OD at times. Does anyone else notice this or is it just me? I like it. It barely audible but they have an octave quality there. I never really could put my finger on it until I read that comment from VikingJedi above. I really dont think that I have an octave modded though. I didnt even know you could get one like that. On a side note, I was playing around with the feedback on my RK and man, I can get some really crazy funky sounds out of this thing! I watched Ryans YouTube on "how to make your RK bark like a dog" and I started messing around with all the knobs while stomping on the feedback fs. I could totally use some of this sort of stuff for cool recording and live ambiance. It will take some time to master it but I really dig it. I out it through some delay and wah and wow, trance city.

Also, played the BDPG out last night for the first time. It killed. My notes were so much more defined. I now see how effective this pedal can be in a live setting. In my room it sounds great but its almost like I think that its going to take away from my tone/sound but when its sitting in the mix, it adds so much body and UMFP! Now I just have to remember to stomp it off in cleaner/quieter passages. I played a new intro to one of our songs last night with the RK, some delay and trem and forgot to switch off the BDPG, and it was way too much! Oh the power! :bassist:

So the BDPG killed it? Have ever had the Grey Stache? If so, how did they compare?
