I have three P basses and two of them are Fender American Pro. The third is a Univox.

The Pro's I have the Olympic white and the antique olive.

Can someone please explain to me why I feel the want to get a Candy Apple Red Pro when I already have a couple and they sound and play so well. Am I really chasing a color?

Understandable. I don't see myself playing a 4 string bass but I'm currently fighting G.A.S. for Charcoal Frost Jazz bass. But at least once a day I'm googling that bass .

I don't know @outoftune. I have been thru the GAS and out of GAS. All I can say is the best way to beat it - if you want to/this worked for me is to follow this:

1. Is something truly broken, as in, is this a show-stopper emergency. If so, you gotta do what you gotta do.

2. Unless it's 1. above, must have financing in place first. No credit. possible exception is the X number of days, same as cash deals that would be your call/your budget.

3. This one is tough. Make yourself wait 30 days. If you are still all about it a month later, it must really be a thing and should be addressed. See 1. and 2. above then proceed. - An optional add-on might be to make yourself learn something that will improve your bass skills before you "let" yourself buy a piece of gear. I've done that one too.

So far I've beaten the GAS this whole year, save the KZ-6 IEMs that I bought for my Church gig. It's the only thing I have going that uses IEMs and they provided some Behrenger's that worked for everyone but me. On those bass=mud, so that survived my 1. test. My goal is to buy nothing apart from strings and necessary maintenance for the balance of 2019. Wish me luck!!

Or, if you can't afford a green bass, buy a LED wash and freeze it on green, and play your white bass. Don't have a white bass?, well then get that green bass and the white bass.
