G.A.S is ridiculous

I own two low-rent P-type basses, both of which are kind of near and dear to me both in that they play pretty well and also that they look appealingly scruffy to me: a discolored cream/white Squier and a dinged-up sunburst Johnson. You'd think that at this point I'd be pretty well covered in general P-bassedness, but I can't shake the image of someday acquiring yet another P-configured bass in this color scheme:

I don’t believe in buying repetitive basses. I have to check myself sometime to make sure that I am not going to waste money by buying basses that are similar to what I already have.

There’s plenty of it, actually, but it’s all bad judgement.
Terrific, but I'd put the bridge at the mouth with the strings coming out. Rather than cut-out, just use inlays.
The bass on my photo has a broken truss rod and a crooked neck pocket. I crushed the numbers and it's not really worth fixing, considering the prices and the time it would take. So I decided to buy a Invalid Link Removed because it would be cheaper and faster than fixing mine and it's a better quality bass. And I can still install the EMG GZR pickups.
I decided to do this after asking for recommendations on affordable basses.
Now I'll also have to buy a Harley Benton 51P because of the single coil. Harley Benton also offers a real nice Jazz Bass and they are exactly what I'm looking for: affordable and easy to mod.
If I don't hold myself I'll end this year with 3 basses.
And at least one guitar.
I would be able to afford that, but it would be an incredibly dumb financial decision.

As long as you are gassing on desireable basses like a Fender P bass, you can always sell some of them assuming they are in top condition if/when your finances or tastes change. Buy them used and in top condition and you can sell for little to no financial loss.
Like someone said, you could be gassing on more expensive things like boats, or cars.

I feel pretty lucky that the main thing I'm thinking about doing is to change to a black pickguard on this bad boy!
Now I want (NEED) a sherwood green, lake placid blue american original, pink adam clayton, 57 reissue in trans white, and the gold sparkle over seafoam custom shop from last year.
Yeah, you think that's bad? Try listening to bass fuzz pedal demos for 3 hours. I can't hear and I still don't know anything.
