G. Gould Club!

I don't have a lot of good pictures handy right now of the bass I play, but it only has one knob. 3 mini-toggles, one for each pickup, but no tone controls. It does go through a buffer preamp though.

I've been playing my ggi6 in a new band that does music that is difficult to describe. The piano player is a monster player/composer/arranger Berklee grad who studied with Bill Evans. The tunes all have a decided jazz bent and great changes. Anyway, the Gould is a perfect fit for this group and for me. What a fantastic bass in every respect.

Fyi, the Bass Place has 4 Goulds on Reverb on a 3 day sale... prices look pretty good to me. Plus just saw there's an extra 15% off code GEARUP15 .

Reverb 3 -Day Sale! G-Gould GGi4 in Vintage Sunburst - #1255 - 8.2 pounds

Reverb 3 -Day Sale! G. Gould GGi5 Gloss White Matching Headstock - #1252 - 8.9 pounds

Reverb 3 -Day Sale! G.Gould Graphite GGi4 Bass Highly Figured Walnut Decadence - #1258 - 8.2 pounds
This one is a terrible tease though, as they have pics of the 5 string mixed in as well which I would be super tempted by.

Reverb 3 -Day Sale! G. Gould Graphite Neck GGiMM4 - VJ Bass in High Gloss White - 8.2lbs - 1261

No affiliation, fyi.

I bought my ggi5 from The Bass place and paid just about what that white one will go for with the 15% discount. Mine has the same electronics and is a wonderful bass.

Played my ggi6 at a concert last night. It continues to be a very inspiring bass to play. Ideas seem effortless to play and the tone is so good. Musician friends always tell me how good it sounds.

I guess the Monkee's had it right. I'm a believer!

Looks like one of those end-of-Summer sales. They don't have that many basses left, and these prices are not sustainable for the future. Happy hunting!

Phil Lesh and Andy West used to play this model. It's very unfashionable now to have string spacing this close, but some like how fast you can play on it.

Andy West is the best pick-style player I've ever heard...and a really nice guy when I met him at NAMM years back.

A happy man playing his fantastic ggi6!

Did you get this off of Reverb? Regardless...beautiful!

My ggi6 continues to be my go to bass. I will play it on my gig tonight.

My bass teacher liked my ggi6 so much that he bought one and I got to hear him play it last night with the band Capt. Kirk. The captain is Kirk Covington who was the drummer for Tribal Tech. Great show last night and Jim sounded fantastic on his Gould bass.
