Which pickup configuration do you prefer out of these? can you describe the differences? I have one with the MM in the bridge like your white one, just wondering...

With the pan knobs centered, they sound very similar to me. I don’t really prefer one over the other, but I will say that the white one is a bit more versatile in terms of different tones because the MM pickup can also be single coil by pulling up the volume knob. So, for that reason, I have to give a slight edge to the white one, but they’re both great.
Ok. You win!! I’ve been eyeing a Gould ever since I let my Q5 go and I’m pretty sure yours is the prettiest I’ve ever seen. What is the top? Rosewood board?Like this one I'm sitting on...? BMB
Also, for any Gould-lovers with an aversion to 35” scale, how would you compare to other 35” scale 5ers? I have a permanently separated left shoulder and have ultimately sold every 35” scale bass I have ever had. I have never had the pleasure of putting my hands on a G. Gould and curious if you guys can help me here. Very tempted to ask Geoff to build a custom 34”, but curious what your options of the feel and reach of the standard 35” are. There are some beautiful Goulds out there on Reverb right now but don’t want to go down the road of buying and selling another 35” bass.
Any help is appreciated. TB is the best!

we can make a 5 string like Andy West's 6-string. 26 frets, 34" scale. I prefer the 35" but you gotta do what you gotta do. (I've posted these pix before, right?)

Thanks Geoff!! You did post the pic of Andy; just went back through and found it. The wheels are turning....
I find my 35” scale Gould basses very comfortable to play. I must say the the only 35” scale bass I had trouble playing was a USA Spector 6. I could hardly reach the lowest position. My Gould basses are easy to play all over the neck.

...and if that were true he would also probably have a non-disclosure agreement about it so he wouldn’t be able to answer you
