This thread has revived my G&L gas. Thanks a lot Chef and Spidey.
Me want ASAT bass! Roarrr~
The L2XXX switch gear is not difficult:
1) passive/active/active with treble boost
2) parallel/series
3) neck pup/both pups/bridge pup
(you can tell I have been researching)..........
If I would buy a L2000, I would really want a 1.5 inch neck, not the 1.75.
Do they do such things in their custom program?
Um, trying doing a little research on the G&L web site.[Invalid or Expired Link Removed]
Been there, doesn't answer my all my questions......like will a 1.5 neck even fit on a L2000, no mention of tone control options
okay, two other niggles:
1. Their website sucks for figuring out what options you can get.
2. Of the NY dealers mentioned, especially the ones in the city, I have only ever actually seen a G&L Bass at Guitarmann on the LES.
my friend, my experience with OTHER instrument companies makes me cautious, for very rarely can different width necks be readily swapped, if G&L can do it great, but they should specifically say so, because thats not the norm for the industry.
Tonight for example, I am going to put an A neck on a fender jazz, using just a saw and a drill...![]()
Oh, OK. Swapping. I thought we were talking about neck options. You'd probably need to send your bass back to G&L if you wanted a different neck, but that's just a guess.
no not swapping, will a 1.5 inch neck fit on a L2000, if custom ordered...surely someone here has done a custom order...I have vague, very vague synapses telling me they have seen such comments before...
G&L makes them with a 1.5 or a 1.75 neck. No swapping involved.
Jim
My G&L trib is honestly the best bass I have ever played. I think mine is a USA version labeled wrong![]()
puurrrfect, thank you.....but how did you know that, for the website sez 1.75....I love the possibility of a 7.5 inch radius, and 1.5 inch neck, that may make a L2000 perfect for me right now...
