I hope this is the appropriate place to ask... I am building a new bass and would like to use the MFD pickup(s). My initial temptation is to use one pickup in the L1000 location, but wonder if those who have owned the different models might have recommendations on whether the L1500 location closer to the bridge is better sounding, or whether two pickups is the way to go. I plan to go passive only (from what I can tell from circuit diagrams the passive tone circuits are used for both passive and active modes anyway).

Thanks for any advice you may have.

The only ebony boards available are the unlined fretless and the single coil option as well as no fretboard markers have been unlisted options for many years. It is kind of like the In-n-Out Burgers secret menu.

The L-1500/1505 pup location is brighter and more aggressive than the L-1000 location.

What is the process to get a number for this club? I just got this super sweet ASAT Semi Hollow last week.

Single coil from the factory (K model) is not an option that is currently available. Yes, the BABP L-2000s are Ks, but that was a special limited run. As to fingerboard options, ask your dealer.

We're seeing some fretted ebony now, but I wouldn't stick my neck out and tell you it's generally available. Supply may still be a bit shaky, leaving G&L to do what they can. As with the above, ask your dealer to make a call to their rep or Fullerton to see what is currently happening.

I had not posted a pic of my trio of L-2500 Tribs, so to remedy the omission, here is one. It's overkill to have three, but they do look good together!
