smacking the strings into the poles?
preamp chip going bad?
try it in passive for a while.
In the L series basses, is the pre amp supposed to hum a little?
It goes away when I touch the strings or the knobs.
I've never known them to hum - hiss, yes, but not hum. Sounds like a grounding issue to me.
I'm just wondering why it goes away when I touch the knobs or the strings or the switches. If its the ground, what is the best remedy?
