Yes! I still order Empress all the time for folks. They used to occasionally run out of it, so it would sometimes extend the delivery time. That hasn't happened in a few years, though.
Empress is a $143 MSRP upcharge, same as Swamp Ash. That turns into $100 in the advertised price. It can be included for free under a Premier finish, and the Premier finish costs $143 MSRP / $100 Advertised. In other words, Empress costs $100 whether you order a Standard or Premier finish. Confusing? You bet!

I owned an L-100 that was a pine body (fullerton red, so no grain visible). I owned it for a second or two. Sounded good to me an my old ears
I got my Reverend Thundergun from there a few years ago. I also tried out a L1K there before buying one as well. I concur!
The new CLF Research Series 750 L2000 which appeared on the website and has now (poof!) disappeared again had a burst model in "Western Sugar Pine".
Same deal with pine, that's been available this year. I think it's either the same upcharge ($143 MSRP / $100 Advertised) or slightly less.
I've played a few pine G&L's over the years, and it sounds nice as far as I recall. The weight is all over the place, though: sometimes heavy, sometimes light and all points in between.
Brad @bdgotoh had one of those pine L2000. It was for sale, but I can't find the classified link now.

That's mine on Reverb. It's a terrific bass but heavier than I was hoping. Sounds great, more like alder than ash to my ears but very nice. I got it the same week I realized it's time for me to sell a bunch of basses.
