Nope. I had a 3 bolt SB-2 fretless, picked up a 6 bolt 1 1/2" nut replacement neck for my Trib L2K and offered it up to the SB and it wouldn't work without major surgery.

getting a new to me 1991 black lb100 with a maple neck next friday, had a cherryburst one on hold with gc, but after the fiasco with the L2k I would rather pay 5 dollars more on ebay and hopefully avoid needing to refret and replane the neck and polish about 30 years of nicotine off, yucky
Ok you G&L dudes.. I have a question for you all! I may be picking up an ASAT here in the next couple of days.. First off, I will be doing a preamp swap with it.. I will put a John East pre in it.. Either a MMSR 3 knob 2 band or the 2.2 3 knob. But the big question is, how well will the ASAT handle being tuned BEAD? More than likely I will use DR low riders for their tension.
Yup, I went with carvin first twice, nothing short of a terrible p pickup. A lifeless active p sound with enhanced lows and highs. Muddy. It was okay in passive mode but with 2 pickups the mother hummed like a, well a mother, heavy too. So for the best setup you were stuck just going passive p. Well the g&l fender or lakland p are are way better choices tone wise
My LB-100 will be on the block this week. I've been missing my Musicman Sabre and I found one with an all rosewood neck. I can't keep both, so when that comes in, out the LB goes. The Musicman thrills me more than G&L these days and after owning and flipping two other G&L's in the last year, I'm making peace with it now.
So I will take it that the G&L experts here don't have an answer to this question..
another question, got the e tuning key buzzing when i play the open e on the 2011 sb-2 after it was set up with the la bellas, already tightened the key, neck bolts, and the saddle lock, rewrapped the a and e strings and i made sure the truss rod was all snug, i never dropped this bass, but i may have bumped the key on a table or a chair at one point, nothing major i assume, because it's not bent
One 90s G&L I had (a Climax, I think) had a tuner where the actual "ear/paddle" rattled in the post. I don't have any particular fix suggestion for you if that's it, but it's something you can check.
I strung a bass BEAD (not a G&L, not that it really matters) and had to loosen the truss rod 1/4 turn to get the required neck relief because the B string had marginally less tension than the G.
Check what the tensions are for your chosen strings but I doubt you will have to tweak the truss rod any more than when changing brands of EADG strings.

BEAD is actually less tension than EADG -- that's why B strings can feel floppy, lower tension.
Craig, that may be the case with several brands or styles of strings.. but I feel that there are some that will improve that feeling.. from my reading here.. it appears that the Low Riders are one of those strings that will improve that feeling, esp on a 34" scale bass.. I could be wrong there in memory, but that is what I seem to recall at the moment.
But my query is not about the tension of the strings.. but the strength of the join will improve the resonance of the tone. There are a lot of factors that play, the joint is just one of them.. this is why I wanted to know if anyone had tried it on the ASAT
Despite the negativity they get due to fender's poor execution, the 3-bolt neck design (when done right, like in G&L's case) is just as solid/rigid as a 4-6 bolt neck attachment.
Well, It is looking like I will be picking this bass up tomorrow.. I will have to do a set up on the bass and also adjust the nut for the new strings.. I am going to be very curious as to how well it will sound.
