apparently the nut slot angle on the sb-2 wasn't appropriate for the flatwounds, thank goodness it was a ten minute fix and i don't need a new nut or new tuners

Newer to the forum, but I have three G&L basses. An L2000, a JB-2, and a SB-2. I'd like to get an LB-100 to complete my own little personal collection, but funds are a little sparse now. I really like the satin #12 neck on my L2000, and I'm GASing for a emerald blue/rosewood LB-100, so I may just order that new if I can sell some other drum stuff to fund it.

How much would you guys pay for this ASAT (used but in mint condition)? Hardcase is included. What would be the highest, lowest, and average price you'd say for one of these?

The Dean Markley Helix exposed core strings are not just for string through, but if you top load, the exposed core goes across the bridge and you have to set up accordingly. If you run them string through, the wrapped part of the strings goes across the bridge for a comparable setup with most strings.

Am I understanding this correctly? You are feeling like thru-body stringing is required, because you don't want to make a small adjustment to the bridge saddle height? If that's what you're selling, well... to each his own!

I don't think that's what I said at all. No configuration is required, Configure strings to whatever your preference... to each his own.

I prefer string through and in this case it was an added convenience.

i think the L2000s and ASATs go from about 675 with player wear to about
850, more pristine ones are closer to 1000

Sorry. Earlier, I meant to say "saying", not "selling". I didn't mean to come across as ragging you like that sounded.

And, I think maybe my reply quoting your post was really addressed to someone else? I thought someone said they used those strings and that those strings required him to use thru-body stringing. I was just trying to clarify my understanding that he (whoever it was) was saying they are "required" to be thru-body because the alternative would be to adjust the bridge saddle height.

I've used them through body & through bridge & I greatly prefer through body on a 34" scale bass for adjusting the bridge purposes, not having the cores go over the saddle no matter how you set it up which effects the tone and the full B string starts to go around the peg

That one that went for 650 is why I made the post. I'm trying to figure out what these things are worth and that one in pristine condition going for 650 definitely looks like an anomaly. The other one you linked to is listed on TB for 900 I believe and has some finish imperfections according to the TB listing. On the bay, it looks like it's going for 700 starting bid and something like 60 for shipping.
