Yeah, the cat bass will definitely scratch you if you handle it too rough (just like my gray tabby, lol)
The blackburst is hard to photograph! Too shiny!! I need to put some wear on it, I guess! :thumbsup:

Need to pick up some shielding tape & add some to the cavity cover- this is the first active bass I've owned that's picked up radio signals.. passive mode's dead silent though. An easy enough fix, I suppose!

The first time I plugged in my M-2500 it picked up a radio station, too. I discovered the instrument cable wasn't fully inserted into the bass. You might double check your cable, I've had no radio frequency interference since the one time

If you have an L-1500 set to series and passive with the Bass on 10, what, if any, difference is there functionally between that and a Kiloton? Same pickup? Same pickup position? Same treble control?

Or, to ask the same question a completely different way, why do the videos of L-1500 I especially sound different to a Kiloton? In the above clip, will it be set to active with both treble and bass rolled off a bit?

The L-1500 does use a 0.022uF cap on the treble where the Kiko I believe uses 0.047uF. This would retain more upper mids on the L-1500 as the tone is rolled back. An easy thing to change, though.

You also have a preamp to contend with. Even in passive, I believe it can still influence the circuit, but I can't really articulate how.

Just got my Tribute Kiloton last week. It is at my tech's place. Had one high fret on 17 on the D string. Not something I'm gonna return an otherwise great bass for that was such a reasonable price. Picking it up this evening all set up, fret addressed, and strung with some GHS Super Steels. I used it two days after getting it at a first rehearsal with a possible new cover band project. Bass really shined, especially on the pop songs on the list. Bad picture below. My music room was a mess and lighting is bad. Need to take a nice outdoor pic to show off that finish.

The room was neat and in order before the Kiloton arrived. I think we know what's up…

My latest pointless daydream is to wonder if it would be feasible and/or not totally pointless to replace a Kiloton's tone knob with a treble-cut / bass-cut stack (iirc this where I get told that a stack of the necessary of pair of pots is nonexistent) On Kiloton demos, the bass always sounds impressively rich and rounded. Might it be nice to be able to control that a little?

BTW if anyone else was wondering, has G&L decided to start 2022 being a bit less of a hot mess? it's now three weeks since they registered my order and they haven't yet confirmed the correct specs. I wonder what random instrument they're going to make for me this time ... tangerine / pearloid / maple / 1¾" nut / 12" radius / SB-2 / black headstock ....?
