Shield both control and pickup cavities then make sure the shielding is connected to ground. Not required but I like to ground the shielding right at the output Jack's sleeve lug. You can ground to the back of a pot if you so wish. As weird as it may sound 3 of the tributes I had all had shielding but they didn't even bother to ground it. My USA model of coarse does not have shielding but it is an LB-100 with a Humbucker.

My LB-100 benefitted enormously from my tech painting the cavity with shielding paint, very noisy before, now fine. Sorry, can't remember if he did under the pickups too. Probably, as he's a very thorough kind of guy.

My L2K, L1K and ASAT have zero noise issues.

I get a 404 error page, very frustrating. I guess it's already gone and forgotten.
Hopefully G&L is ok with me linking an image to comment positively on one of their finishes. I am usually not a huge redburst fan, but the metal flake makes this finish for me.
I've listed my L2000 Tribute on Facebook Marketplace for $700. I think that's fair, since it's in exactly the condition as when I bought it new over the summer, but if the collective believes that's either too low or too high, I could use that info and adjust my expectations accordingly when I create a posting here in the classifieds for it. (edit: too late, classifieds posting has been made)
I hadn't expected that this instrument would make me sell my Ric to buy the USA L2500 750, but it did.

You are a supporting member so I think it is allowed. $700 is going to be on the high end of used IMO. Not saying you cannot get it, but you may be waiting awhile to get it and I am not sure if Facebook Marketplace is going to be the place to get top dollar.

I'm in no hurry. It's the right bass for someone at the price, because it's perfect, but if it sits too long I'll adjust. Thanks.
BTW, I suspect you're well aware what a great store GuitarWorks is. That's where I bought this one and would have bought the L2500 750 from them if they'd had one on the wall once I'd made my decision.

2nd here, on Guitarworks being a great store. They were the only place within 100 miles (of Dayton, OH, USA) that actually had many G&L basses in stock (not every model, but most of the ones I was considering - Tribute series: Kiloton, JB & JB2. They didn't have a Tribute L2000 but I was able to try the USA model).
I have actually never bought a G&L from Guitarworks, but have been going there for over 25 years now. Excellent shop.
Metallic Redburst used to be on the G&L finish menu in the 90's. I once had a mid-90's Sb-2 with that finish. G&L offered other metallic bursts back then, like this 90's Goldburst Climax below. Were there other color ones available then, too? It would be interesting to know about the obscure G&L finishes that have come and gone over the years, and thier official names.
Not sure but I think G&L's "Yellow Fever" may be a reissue of a prior yellow finish from the 80's. There's a yellow 80's El Toro in my closet that looks suspiciously like the current Yellow Fever.

Here's a two-tone both Brad & I had, now in a lg collection; actually, my red/black Interceptor is in the other lg collection. Both are heavy but this one is waay heavy. Love the unique headstock on her but far prefer my El Toros.

As I recall, the color name of the yellow one is your closet is "Tortured Beast".
Never seen another G&L bass painted this color. IICR, the date stamps are 1988, which was right around the time when G&L painted some unusual 2-tone Interceptors.
She's a beaut, & definitely a rare one. The Interceptor's heel date was 1985 but Mr. Collecor states " Date on heel is what it is, but more likely this instrument is from late-1987 given teat-less sickle headstock". I'd tend to agree.
These days I pick up my SB2 1st gen & fretless Lynx before any other of my G&L's but here's a pic of the '84 Bull I'd like to find (since I can't have yours, lol) :
