Also, I was first introduced to this band from this thread, where the bassist played an L-2000. She's now moved on to an L-1000 (and a Jazz 5, in a different video)

Not the best pic…but you get the idea.
I'm artist with them amped up my relationship with them a lot this year.
I was never completely sold because I was more of 35" scale guy. There are some really good 34s out there (ESP AP-5 comes to mind).
I digress but G&L have upped their game…I firmly believe that they have improved.
Also for better or for worse…My ear has really gotten used to the "sound of MFDs."
They also don't care if I have a signature instrument with Lull…So I have been using a boat load of Lulls and it's now getting all over TV.

I had my LB-100 open, swapping over the pickguard. After I'd closed it up, I found this sitting to one side...
Wondering how on earth I managed to get that out of the bass, I opened it back up — and discovered that the two pots and the jack all had one.
So where does this 4th one belong? Should the jack have them doubled up? Very confused!

While I'm here... When I got my LB-100 just over two years ago, I was disappointed by how light a tint the "gloss vintage tint" was — still very pale and fresh. Here's a photo I posted back then:
At the weekend, I noticed that the neck has already begun to age, and now has some warmth, which balances the body's Ruby Red Metallic much better. It never lives in its case.

Sometimes they stick together (until somebody takes everything apart at a later date.)
So an unnecessary spare attached itself to the required one, then decided it could get even more stuck to underside of the pickguard, and, hidden from view, escaped.

Yes, not very vintage tinted at all, is it? Very nice quartersawn wood, though!
I recently put SD Heavy Weather pickups in my JB. Wow, in a good way. Not noiseless but I play them both dimed anyway so no hum. They really sound great!

Awesome! I LOVE my Kilo V, it's my main player right now. Mine is ash/maple. It's simplicity belies how versatile it is. As I mention earlier, I do pretty much always use it with my Xotic RC essentially doing a slight mid-cut(via bass/treble boost) as w/o that it is sooo midrangey. Using it in a country band, a soul/funk band, a pop artist and more. I just did a rock session at 2200 Studios in Sausalito (formerly The Plant) and man, that bass just sits in the mix so well - the producer and engineer was stoked on it, commented several times. To me it's somewhere between a P and a 'Ray in the mix. Every note is super clear and defined all the way down to the low B. And that's with flatwounds!

I consider just getting another L and leaving it a half step down just for the way it records.
I absolutely love how the K-mod (single coil) mode records, yet I'm not the biggest fan of it over my rig.
I'm pretty particular about recording bass sound and almost never %100 happy with the result unless I'm miking an amp. (I know I know, some people are probably cringing as they read that).
I did find one particular preamp pedal that just sounds killer with a L in single coil mode in the studio and it made me crave another one, that is set up for vocal stuff that is dropped in pitch.
Knowing you're a GK guy, you may appreciate my chain for this session with the Kiloton 5 was the bass>DI (Tonecraft tube DI) and also my Legacy 500 with the Drive engaged through my GK Neo 1x12. They have a nice B15 there but we went with my GK amp because it felt better for the five string. The Kiloton is something pretty special I think. I use both the single coil setting and parallel about 50/50. I'm really quite surprised how below the radar the Kiloton is, especially the fiver. I would not hesitate to get another so I can have flats and rounds.
