I never knew G&L already had that idea. I'm very happy with the tone of mine. I rarely use the bridge soloed. I either use both or neck only with the volume full up.

Where to find a gold anodized pickguard?

I've yet to see a production one, so it would probably be a custom order... Maybe try Tone-Guard® or Link Removed to see if they could make one. Doubt it would be cheap.

Tone Guard did black wrinkle hdwe for G&L several years back. [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] and [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

[Invalid or Expired Link Removed] is G&L's OEM. #162 Brushed Gold/black layer.

Saw Invalid Link Removed has gold: #10 Mirror, #14 Brushed, #59 3ply.

Yes these two brands are vinyl. Pro'lly mo' cheaper than having an anodized custom made.

Ok. So a while back I bought an 82 G&L L2000E. I am totally in love with this bass! I love the punch I get with it and the versatility of the preamp. Not a bad sound in it. The neck is perfect for me too. A little heavy at 10.75lbs but despite the weight it is comfortable to play on stage all night.

Also around that time I traded for a EBMM Sterling 5HS. Although I do like it well enough, I just haven't bonded with it. So I have put it back up in the classifieds and either I am trading or selling and have a couple of offers. The one thing I know is that either way I am getting a L2500.

I am hooked!

Currently Fender 9050 flats. My favorite so far. Before that, D'Addario Half Rounds that I really liked.

Deal is done! Sold my EBMM Sterling 5 and 10 minutes later bought a L2500! Probably get it my grubby hands next week and I can't wait! Hope I love it as much as my L2000E.

Back in the good graces of G&L with my, new to me, LB-100. Found it on Reverb for only $925.00 shipped. Beautiful butterscotch blond, maple neck, beauty and simplicity at it's finest! The bass is fantastic - though it currently has SS strings and it's ripe for some chromes or some nickel wounds...

With that said, the build sheet states hardrock maple - though, I've seen many a neck in my days and this sure looks like quartersawn to me. This was the same issue with an old JB I had.

That happens quite a bit. Two of mine also have Quartersawn necks. Nice freebie!

Got my JB5 last week. Loving my new G&L
