For those who were looking for a hard to find 1997 L2500 with a wide nut (1-15/16th) and 4+1 headstock, there is one on ebay (awesome condition, fair price).
Please note this is the regular version, not the 'Custom' version of 1997.

Finally got a chance to run the SB-2 at practice. Halfway thru our set rundown, my guitarist/lead singer turned to me and said 'If you sold all your other basses and just played that one I wouldn't be mad.' It's a winner.

Also helps that the bass has sentimental value to me. When I was a 16 (in 1999) year old kid learning bass, I was into real basic punk rock stuff. Along comes this band my age playing faster and more technical than I'd ever even thought of. Their bassist, Alex, influenced me beyond anyone else at that point. This was his bass. He stopped playing a few years ago, had a kid, moved on with life. I now own an instrument that indelibly ties me to a point in my life where discovery was like magic to me.
