The headstock was changed in the mid-eighties but you'll find the older design as late as my '89 SB-2 Leo sig model. I had an L2000 for a bit that was white over mahogany body - had a rosewood neck. ...not sure the date on that one but I think late '80's.

You simply indicate interest, which it looks like you just did. To be sure, post again and explicitly ask for a number and the "number master" will assign you your number soon-ish.

I picked up an SB-2 a few months ago, and I absolutely love it. I'd lusted over L-2000s when I first started playing bass and eventually bought one used, couldn't get along with it, traded it for another, and didn't like that one much better either. So now 10 years since I got rid of my last G&L, I finally found the one that clicks with me. Apparently I really like PJ pickups, since those are the only basses I have now. And the color looks pretty good too with the pickguard.

i am a huge fan of dunlop nickel plated rounds on my 83 L2k, gonna put them on the LB100 soon, basset hound and duck retriever are howling like crazy, helicopters and sirens all around, having trouble spelling and focusing, ugh, you'd think the angela's crest forest area would be quieter
This! I've often wished they would release an L-2000 wired that way with no switches, just 3 knobs.
Yes, I always wanted a blend knob on my 2000's and 2500's. ...not a shortcoming, just personal taste. I considered swapping the switch for one, but never got to it. I think I mostly used both pickups, or just the neck at times for P-bassier stuff. I almost never used series either - too thick for most of my purposes, drives sound techs crazy too

. I like parallel most of the time.Mine is currently wired volume/volume/master volume With no switches. A few months ago I had it wired volume/3way pickup switch. The latter has been my favorite so far.
I'm about to wire it straight to the jack, which is why I asked the question above. I had the preamp removed years ago and I've never missed it.

No, the pickup mode (series/parallel) puts the individual pickup coils in series or parallel. The pickup selector then gives you the selection of neck / both in parallel / bridge of whatever selection you had for series/parallel.
(Hope you understand that, the more I edit it the worse sense it makes.)
This is my go to these days. But I couldn't do this without the treble and bass cuts.
