Don't know if this club is one of those that gives out numbers or not but, whether or not you do, I'd like official membership. I bought this beautiful L-2500
back in March but until recently had only had a chance to play it at home. I liked it but I wasn't really wow'd by it. Maybe it's just because I'm still getting to know the controls well enough and can't yet instantaneously tweak them to get a specific sound like I can with my Stingray. Maybe it's because playing at home I haven't really been able to play it at band-volume level. Maybe I miss having an on board mid-control like I have on my Stingray. Maybe I just didn't like it as much as I like my Stingray. Maybe a combination of those things. Maybe something else.
Then last week I finally had a chance to play it with the band (we were off for quite a while and that was our first time playing again) and right away I finally found the "Wow!!!". I don't yet know if it knocks my Stingray off of it's spot on my #1 pedestal, but I get it now. I love the big, beefy tone and I love having no trouble cutting through to whatever extent I want to cut through. Can't wait to play it more as adjusting the controls becomes more natural to me. And, I have to say, I like how passive mode is another legitimate, great sounding tonal option and not just a "limp along in case my battery dies" fall back.
