Well I'm back! Just traded for this L2K Tribby,with satin walnut finish,has beefy neck than my other L2K,USA model,which was #8 C width,decent condition,I think is a 2009,serial # begins 09? You can get a decal made.
Fellow board member here makes beautiful headstock decals...even tort ones.
I'll try to remember who but maybe someone else will chime in.
By the way, I'm staining my headstock to match the body of mine, too.
Hard to tell in the pic, but the headstock is noticeably lighter.

Well,trying to control myself,but could not resist getting another G&L, which is an M2000 Tribby. Serial number looks like it could be a 2012? NBD,with hardshell case,white with matching headstock. I plan on matching the headstock,on the 2009 L2000 Tribby,walnut finish I posted earlier. Seller said he would ship it out tomorrow. I will post pictures,when it is delivered,sometime next week. I'm about 99.9% sure they are the same pickups... tone pots might be different though...

The pickups are the same, the rest of the electronics is different somehow.

I thought they were the same pickups, too. Rest of the electronics are foreign manufacture to spec, but the pickups themselves should be USA.

Guys

Quick question on headstocks.

I'll post a photo below but I have my 3 G&Ls.

Silver ASAT #7 neck 3 bolt
Black ASAT #8 neck 3 bolt
L1500 #12 neck 6 bolt

I have not got exact years but early mid 90s I would say for ASATs and 2000s for L1500.

I have not measured the dimensions of the headstocks but the semi hollow seems less 'aggressive' in its dimensions and sleeker compared to the others and the L1500 is fatter and more aggressive with slightly different slopes to the curves.
I'm not sure neck size alone will account for this as the silver has the thickest and biggest neck.
Is it to make the ASATs seem more Tele-like or did G&L just get bolder as they got older?

Interested if anyone knows anything, or am I seeing things?!

I listed my L1500, no nibbles (which is a good thing) and having been stalking the bassesbyleo site I may mid the pots and pre-amp and I think it will open up a new bass to me.

We need to safely store and keep all our basses in case of apocalypse

After checking the bridge on my Tribby L2k,notice the locking screw for the saddles

was missing? Where would I be able to get one to replace? Anyone like to steer me in the right directions?

Wouldn't G&L be the key place to to get the parts your looking for, I could be wrong but that would be the first place I would check.
