We all (3) sing and share centre stage (because we are usually so close together and pushed as far back to the wall or into a corner as we can get). We are all pretty outgoing characters (on stage at least).

@JES the original run of Tributes came in a variety of colors, including CAR and I think LPB on the standard bodies and amber (like delta7fred's), cherry burst, 3TS and natural over ash. These were done in 2003-2004, MII models with the large "Tribute" logo on the headstock and bridge. You could also find maple necks on the SB-2s then. You don't see them around a lot, though.

I gigged a CAR Tribute SB-2 for years. That's the one I wish I'd never sold.

No, it's the truth (or as least, as agreed by a vast majority). The misinformation is where you find "After Strat After Tele".

Well I'm back! Just traded for this L2K Tribby,with satin walnut finish,has beefy neck than my other L2K,USA model,which was #8 C width,decent condition,I think is a 2009,serial # begins 09? Would anyone know by the first two digits? Might have to try and find my Club Member #?

IIRC the first 4 digits of the Tribute Serial number are YYMM, the next 4 digits (Korean) or 5 (Indonesian) is the serial number made in that month.

That would look real nice,with matching headstock. I saw it on local CL here in the Dayton,Ohio area. Seller was located in Columbus,Ohio. He wanted to do some trading,so I traded him,a bass I had. Nice young bass player.

Enjoying seeing such a broad range of G&L basses. I have posted several of mine on this thread over time. These are often less recognized and under-appreciated, given the general high quality and playability of G&L instruments. Particularly enjoy the older versions, often cited as Leo Fender's ultimate creations. No matter, his legacy lives on in all of these basses. An incredible legacy. Posted are photos of my L-2000 E basses (two 1981 and two 1982 versions) and L-1000 basses (one 1980 and three 1981 versions) I have acquired over time. Never get tired of playing each of these....

Hey jd56hawk,friend of mine,at Church tonight said that it would look good with matched headstock. He said he could do it for me,but was concerned about the G&L decal? Have any ideas,or suggestion,on what you would have done?

You can get a decal made.
Fellow board member here makes beautiful headstock decals...even tort ones.
I'll try to remember who but maybe someone else will chime in.
By the way, I'm staining my headstock to match the body of mine, too.
Hard to tell in the pic, but the headstock is noticeably lighter.
