Learned to play on a '93 S-500, that was my first significant purchase coming out of major financial trauma. It remained my #1 well over 15 years, and I only let it go last year.
Just placed an order for a well specced L2K, in a couple months or so I get to join the bass version of the club. Can't wait.
Blackburst Empress/quartersawn maple/bound body & neck/light tint/gloss w. white blocks/matching headstock.
Was sorely tempted by the blue L1K at Rocket, and Greg made me a helluvan offer, but the 2K was really my hearts desire.

Oh good heavens!! Overwhelming GAS. That's a lotta knobs and switches for my simple P brain, yet...wow! drool
It's a lot simpler than it looks.
Knobs: Volume, treble, bass. Switches: Pickup selector, nuclear option (aka OMG mode), active/passive. Simple!
Did the El Toro have the OMG? I don't think so, but I've never played with one.It's a lot simpler than it looks.

It does, but it's not working at the moment. I need to do some re-wiring, as somebody has worked on this bass in the past and it's not wired correctly. Ah well, something to keep me busy.
just raised the pickups on the lynx and it's getting some mfd style jazziness with the settled down dunlop flats, man this thing is easy to play, it's crazy

It's a little too much blue, tbh! The Bahama Blue SB-2 might be the first one to (reluctantly) go up for sale. Still debating with myself.
