I think the switch in the wiring diagram up above is the DP6 but it has jumper wires on the outside just like the picture.

If you have a multimeter then test to see what connections are made in the unused side of the switch in each position, or solder the links on and see if it works, they are easily removed if there is no improvement.

So crappy day. Took my new bass back. Couldn't move the truss rod, had back bow. Come to find out the guy who set it up at the music store bottomed the truss rod out. Now the top of the neck near the frets is ruined.
Went and looked at a used USA at the GC. It's really nice, sounds fantastic. Just not sure I can weasel that in the budget right now.
