Ha! So kind of you to offer. Like most basses associated with TB, it has already changed coasts a time or two. (Why is it that local deals are so rare? We are keeping FedEx in business!!) :D

I was reloading their Instagram page ten times a day or more those last few weeks, even though I knew they usually don't post pictures until after they ship. But in my case they posted the picture in advance. I went kind of bonkers when I saw it.

Lake Placid Blue is the color. I think this would be a great color for a JB!!

My first great bass was an American Made Fender Jazz from 1998 or something like that. Maple board with a lake placid blue finish. Before that I had Squiers.

I wound up trading that Jazz bass for my current SB-1. But anyway, I have a soft spot for that look.

I've been sort of wanting to recreate that in a G&L, but I typically don't play a Jazz style bass anymore. What I might do is order a fretless like that some day, when I can afford it.

I'm tapped out right now because I bought a Kiloton 5.

SB-1s are killer.

I like mine a lot due to the Jazz neck, and slimmer body style. It feels like a cross between a P and a J a little bit, especially with the brighter MFD pickup.

Of course you can order any neck you want on a G&L that they offer, but I just happened to find a used SB-1 that fit the bill.

I used to be a Jazz bass guy so some of my neck and body preferences were shaped by that.

That's what the SB-2 is for. It can cop some jazz throatiness, but beefier.

My SB-1 wears Fender flats and my SB-2 wears TI flats, and there's surprisingly little redundancy between the two.

I had one for awhile actually. An SB-2 without the tone mod.

At one point I had a SB-1, SB-2, L2000 and a LB100, however I sold off all of them except the SB-1.

Most of what bothered me about the SB-2 was the neck on it. I think it was the #8 or something, the 12" radius modern Jazz C. The #6 is a bit more smooth around the edges and feels thicker or something.

Anyway, if the SB-2 had my SB-1 neck on it, I would have probably kept that one instead. However the tone knob and simple one P pickup is kind of nice at times.
