Yep the bassesbyleo forum was sort of born out of some older forums from years ago. A really dedicated crew hang out there and they know their stuff. Much less traffic, which has it's benefits.

Hmmmm.... This seems fishy to me!! Had to look up a tool on Amyzon and saw a G&L, so I checked it out and it's the exclusive Guitar Center/ Musician Friend job "emerald with black PG". But the price was way low... checked the neck, no Tribute...
Read further down and it is a Tribute. Don't Tributes say Tribute on the headstock? If so, I find this sneaky!

When it comes to Amazon and eBay, you need to be very cognizant that the photos don't always match the description. The link you provided if definitely for a Tribute but the seller used a US photo. I also don't not trust a lot of third party sellers on Amazon unless they run a legit web or brick and mortar shop.
eBay is just as bad. In looking for a riflescope the other day, I found a listing for what I wanted but it had a generic photo. Contacted the seller. He gave me one model number and SKU that did not match the one in his item's details, did not match the one in his description and further did not match the product he was advertising.
I saw that one too, last week sometime. They are definitely wrong about something - US Kton pics and a Tribute description. And they can't even get the color right as they are calling it "emerald green metallic" instead of emerald blue. I wonder what you'd end up with if you did order it - although I hope nobody is foolish enough to find out.
The truss nut wrench from Stew Mac came in today.
Unfortunately the nut is just too stripped inside.
Not sure where to go from here. There's the solder idea mentioned earlier in this thread, would need some instruction on how to do that without ruining anything.
Any other DIY ideas?

Definitely replacing the nut if I can ever get that thing out.
Is 1/8" definitely the right size? I use a 5/32" wrench for the necks they're making these days, but maybe it was 1/8" back in the day...
All I can say is... WOW!!! Only played briefly but taking the JB to practice tonight!! Not sure I will gig it this Friday just yet but I love it!! It is a hair over 10lbs but very comfortable. Doesn't feel like an anchor.
Also there is a mark on part of the binding. Not sure if it's just a scratch or separating... hoping some of you can take a look and let me know your thoughts

Looks awesome! I'd call Ron at G&L and ask him if you could send them pics, but it doesn't look like its separating to me. Just looks like a scuff or something. The bass looks awesome!!!

And if it were me and I purchased it new, I would want it to be perfect.
And those slight imperfections would bother me a little.
I would definitely call it to G&L's attention and get their take on it. I've heard they are super-approachable.

Peet's is great. Used to be at then end of my block when I lived on the west coast, but sparser out here around Boston.

Nordstrand, its a lot less esoteric then the two others you mentioned, subtle.
There's one in Harvard Square, anyway.
