And Adam Clayton because he gets zero love from the world. U2's ambient guitar work would've been left in the dust without his basslines. U2 is the one band where the songs are recognized for their basslines, not the guitar riff! New Years Day... and 20 other hits. Not complicated, but he new what he was doing and he played that often boring stuff with impeccable timing and stamina.
I think Achtung Baby and Zooropa are two phenomenally underrated albums for their drum-and-bass hooks (not referencing the genre, just the grooves that those two instruments create). Definitely albums I can get lost in...
As an aside, do yourself a favor and go download Ignaurus by Into Another. One of my favorite albums to listen to the bass playing on.
