G&L Club Part 7

ASAT 05.JPGWell, I've had this thing back from the shop for a few weeks now; I have to say that the Tech at the Sam Ash store here did a really nice job. The fret ends are now perfect, and the new bone nut is cut exactly to my liking. I replaced the EXL 170's (no offense, but, even for rounds, they are not my favorite strings) with a pretty old set of Chromes that I took off a Kramer Forum III project bass several years ago. Since I have... problems... with D'Addario strings in general, I've never tried them before. And, so far? On the ASAT, I'm liking them quite a bit - for what I like to play. I think they'll stay... But, I do find myself playing this bass in passive mode most of the time. The active circuits work as they should, and don't sound at all bad; but - since I'm now just a "bedroom player"? Passive seems to simply sound better in here. Still... it's fun to fiddle with, anyway... And, yes, a semi hollow ASAT would be nice... 4 string for me, though...;)

Shes here. Late 1982 SB2 1st generation in my fave G&L color Belair green, though I've now been informed it's actually Viking Blue. Color is a bit more teal than in the pics. Great neck; lightweight; some body dings and lacquer checking; hardware in fantastic condition; OHSC.
I think she's moving in.

That's beautiful! Where did you find it? Nice color!

The place we return most of what we buy used online from, GC. Once in a long while you score from them but lots of it's there (and returns) for a reason. I was shaking things up a bit and sold 3 basses then paid too much for this G&L and that's OK- made the Lakland score of a decade there two weeks ago.

Beautiful! Sometimes I'm jealous of you righties because of all the great scores, then I think if I was right-handed I'd own 100 basses and have a 2nd mortgage on my house :). It's probably a good thing I'm left handed actually.
