Weird. I wonder why they would stop a model?
Even if there are few requests, I wonder why. It's the same body shape, neck and bridge as the L series...how hard with it be to produce one, if you already have all this laying around?
Hey MM - am I to understand you are thinking of ordering a custom G&L "Jazz" V with L2000 MFD pickups? I didn't think they would do this but man I would love such a bass!!!
I have a story....it may be familiar....
I've recently been playing some of my other basses (a parts PJ with Dimarzio DP126 set and a Fender Aerodyne with Dimarzio Heavy Drive JJ pickups). Both have high output, distinctly voiced pickups.
Had always thought both basses lacked a certain something - hard to say exactly what but spent some time with both basses in conjunction with EQ/overdrive on my pedal board and became happy with how I had both basses sounding both through an amp setup or direct to a mixing board. My L2000 basses have become a little unloved for maybe the last month or so.
Last night I thought I would have a blast with the G&Ls. They simply sound incredible.
I've said this several times - the G&L simply sounds perfect to me, and I can get tones I use from each pickup config...(neck, both, bridge). I rarely engage the preamp - it's mostly series with bass and treble dialled, then whatever pickup I need. The only thing I don't have on either of my basses that I think I'd like to look into is K-mode.

I think it's through the Custom Shop, but I recently heard that a JB/5 can be ordered with 2 MFD humbuckers.

Hopefully you won't have to sell off any of your current basses in order to get it, should such a beastie become available.

Dolph, and Sparkle are safe.
They actually have done a few of these. I think I have seen two of them for sale ever and they always bring quite a bit of money for a used G&L. They labeled them as ASAT B5. According to bassesbyleo, roughly a dozen were made at an artists request. Artist was in the U.K., but there are a few now floating around the US.

Just might have to Bastardize one on my own. L2500 pup in the bridge position, with a Lynx, El Toro, Interceptor ... Dual coil close to the Neck.
Top mount control plate, Freeway strat super switch , ( 10 way pickup, coil, inner/ outer series OMG , in out phase)
Volume ( p/p lpf cap and treble bleed) + PTB circuit on a stack.
No pre all passive.
Oh, man...
Take an ASAT, add a bigger neck and an extra tuner, and the natural rest position would be with the headstock on the floor!
You will not find one unless someone parts one out. Since they made 400ish of them, good luck with that. If the pickup you have has issues, probably worth having rewound.
